We all were silent and tensed. It's been about ten minutes since Matt declared his wish.

I open my mouth to speak but he cuts me off. "I know, I know you told me not to." I close my mouth and face palm.

"The thing is...it's urgent." Matt says and looks over at Asher.

"I think there is a petrol pump some minutes down. We can stop there, even buy some food since it will take time to reach and it's late."

Matt sits gripping the seat and I shake my head.

"Did you tell Sarah?" I ask Asher. "Yes I did. Infact I called her over and she helped my carry you in the car and even packed some clothes for you. I would have done it myself but unfortunately I am gentleman." He says and sit in disbelief.

"What is this conspiracy?" I mumble. At the same time, I feel sort of more comfortable with Asher now. Though he is being sarcastic I really appreciate his 'concern' of not shuffling through my wardrobe.

After driving on the dark road we finally see some lights ahead. Asher pulls into the petrol station and Matt literally sprints out of the car. The station was small joined to a convenience store plus a diner. About two cars and some bikes were parked outside. Asher gets out to get a refill of fuel. I look at my phone again to check for signal but no luck. I am startled when I hear someone knock on my window glass. I look up to see Asher standing there. He was saying something but I couldn't hear a single word.

He gestures with his hands for me to roll down the window. I do so and he bends down, "what do you want to eat?" He asks. I am not as such hungry and I was still slightly dizzy.

"I don't feel like eating anything." I tell him.

"Ah I know you won't like having anything but you will HAVE to eat. It will make you feel better." He asks and looks back at the diner.

"Should I go and check what is available? Would you like to come with me?" He asks.

"No, I don't want to." I say looking down at my dress. "Cara I know I gave you a choice but I suggest that you do come along and not sit here alone." He sighs and I humph. "I am not a kid, I can take care of myself." I say and he throws his hands up in a surrendering gesture.

He moves into the diner, I hear soft music play as the door opens and closes. I sit there alone. It was so quiet for a while inside the car that I could hear the blood flow in my ears.

"Alright." I glance around a bit, I could make out Doritos kept in the convenience store and I suddenly start to crave it. I reach to get out of the car but stop. Should I really go out there? I search for my things in the car and find a duffle bag kept at the back. I unzip it to find my clothes kept in it. Oh thank God! I quickly take out a flannel shirt and my wallet.

I still hesitate to move out. There was no one around. It will take about a few minutes to go and get that. The car will even be visible from within the store....

After some hesitation I gently open the car door and get out. The weather was sultry, the noise of the crickets and insects buzzing from the surrounding open area and trees was loud. I quickly tie the flannel shirt around my waist after settling my shorts and pulling my t shirt down. I throw my hair up in a pony tail.  Checking myself once in the side view mirror I put on my glasses and skip my way into the store.

The glass door opens with a soft jingle of bells. The store was small but had a pleasant and inviting fragrance. There was an old lady by the counter, probably the owner. She smiles at me and I smile back. I go about skimming through the aisles. I pick a few snacks when I hear two people faintly talking from the next aisle.
