"You can never escape your destiny Viktor. You are the perfect weapon. You are after all my precious wolf."

I woke up screaming. There was an intense burning sensation in my chest, one that I've been feeling in past days. Alarm sounds were on, as if something happened somewhere within the camp. I peered into my window and saw people rushing towards the bunkers - something came up. The pain left me weak so I had to take in one of the pills I stored in my drawer. Have I skipped taking them for so long?

Undeniably I remembered half of what happened - the air strike, a mysterious boy and a girl... my friends whose fate I have yet to discover. The memories of 5 years ago began to resurface in my mind - vividly I can recall. There was a pain in my head, like it's being drilled a thousand times.

"Viktor! Wake up, it's Kier he's been attacked. The aswangs, they've made their move." A voice shouted outside my room.

"Kier? What! Okay give me a sec I'll be there in a minute." Hurried putting my clothes on I rushed towards to command center to have a feel of what's happening. Kier was standing there talking to the other officers, while Freya was nowhere to be found.

"I heard you were attack." I asked. Kier nodded.

"How many?"

"Just one, but she's powerful I tell you. Moving in extremely fast she was able to dodge my shots." He replied.

"You can send me. I'm willing to face them - alone." Clenching my fist, i suggested that we taken immediate action to the situation.

"Alone? Are you nuts?"

"Kier, the events of 5 years ago. I think, I can remember them now. What happened to me- before I lost consciousness. I was talking to a mysterious boy and I held in my hands a girl."

"Viktor, calm down."

"No, I've been fed lies too many times. People are dying out there. We need to do something."

"Sir! A horde of level E's are heading from the east gate, from the former Sector C Gate. Should we dispatch a team now?" An officer added.

"No, I'll go. Kier, forgive me." Hurriedly I left the command center and went into the armory. A few guns, some knives and yes silver bullets. However while checking my weapon I felt a sudden headache.

"Come... we are waiting." A voice talked to me with no idea where it came from.

"Who are you? Show yourself?" I screamed however the voice disappeared.

Sector C - an waste land of a once former part of the city. There it lay in ruins - only the groaning of the undead can be heard. A horde is just a mere number. Kier couldn't stop me, the military can't even defend themselves. The moment they set the skies ablaze 5 years ago have shown how weak humans are. They know no pity and that is never a sign of strength.

The tall tower of the gate was empty. I clicked on the switch and the doors opened slowly - it must have been a long time since it was last used. In front of me was an empty city - a ruin of its former glory. As I entered the doors closed behind me, someone wanted this to happen, undoubtedly it was a trap.

"Well, well..." a voice was heard from the shadows.

"Show your self, monster."

"Look at this? Are you kidding me? Monster? You have the guys to call your own kin a monster? What a clown we have here." Eyes which glow red started to become visible, it wasn't a horde, rather its an army. Flesh hungry undead, reading to instill fear to us.

"I don't know what you mean. I am human."

"You are, as a matter of fact you look like one. You even share the same vulnerability and weakness human possess. However, you don't smell human at all." Finally he revealed himself. A tall guy, wearing a black trench coat. It seems like he's their leader, he controls the level E's.

"You..." my voice was shaking as he revealed his face. He somehow looked familiar, someone I've met a long time ago.

"You do remember. How was the amnesia? Did it help you from consuming your own friends? For five years you slumbered, you enjoyed the lavishness of humanity. You lost your inner demon, you've become weak and useless."

"You're that kid! Yes I remember you, and that girl... what happened to her?"

"Oh? The unnamed girl? She's eternally lost. She doesn't even remember you, even her own family. Enough talking of things which can't be undone. Viktor, here where you found salvation five years ago, this place will be your grave." The mysterious guy replied.

The infected ones inched closer, their mouths watering with fluids. I can smell their stench, the smell of death.

"Oh, before i forgot, if you managed to survive tonight then you have a chance to see your beloved Sector B fall into ruins. Good luck, and have fun." He added and faded into the shadows.

As the horde of infected ones attack I was able to fend them off one by one until the very last. I had enough bullets left for defense if I would venture into the darkness before me. If I wanted to know the fate of my friends or that girl then I need to find the mysterious man and get answers.

From what I recall, Andrei was doing some research with a girl named Serana who was reportedly missing as well. That girl, I met her on blood alley years ago but whereabouts of her remain unknown right after. A- virus was the sole reason why the infection occurred, a misuse of science and then like a domino effect it had destroyed many lives. I too have no memory of what happened to me before I met Serana, nor Julia. I closed my eyes and let my thoughts drift away.
