"I'm... He's... WHAT??" I yell. "No! My daddy's in Canad! What are you talking about??" I ask frantically. 'This isn't true. My dad is back at home.' I say to myself. I keep repeating that in my head. "Alexandra! Calm down!" Quinlan orders. "No! Get away from me!" I yell and try to push him away, resulting on me falling on the ground. Quinlan picks me up. "Listen. You need to calm down, okay? You're not helping with anything." He says. I nod. Borald walks over to me. I stare at him. "So, I was adopted. And told that I wasn't. Told that I was born there. Told that I was loved! It was all a lie!" I yell at him and no one trys to stop me when I take a step closer to Borald. "Why?" I ask through clenched teeth. "Because, it was the best thing for you." He replies. "Yeah, that's what they all say." I snap and turn around. I start walking out of the room when I feel a strong hand grip my arm, and it's not Quinlan. The man griping my arm doesn't spin me around though. "Sending you away wasn't only hard for you Alexandra." The man behind me says, and I know it's Borald, my father. Unexpectedly, tears start streaming down my face an I yank my arm from Borald's grip and walk out of the room. I see the flights of stairs and immediately run up them. I'll just run forever. I start taking them two at a time. Then three at a time.
After about 20 stories, I stop climbing. Breathless, I just let myself cry. I doubt anyone could hear me anyways. I feel a strong arm wrap around my shoulders. I jump slightly, then look up at the man holding me. It's not Quinlan, although he resembles him a lot. He's young, handsome, surprisingly strong- oh, stop it! I scold myself. I feel myself seeking warmth and snuggle close to him. His chest is as hard, if not, harder than Quinlan's, but not uncomforably so. I rest my head on one of his muscular shoulders, and try to get warm. The man claps twice, and I jump again. I look at him. About a minute later, a servant arives. The man whispers something in the servants ear. The servant nods and walks away.
About a minute later, the servant returns, carrying a big fluffy blanket. The man wraps the blanket around me and picks me up. He carry's me up at least twenty more stories. We're now at the top of the tree. He opens a door and walks me in. It's a pure white room with a bed, a window, and a vanity in it. There are a few pictures on the wall, and a chandelire made of crystals. The man walks me over to the bed and sets me down. There is a silk nightgown folded neatly on the bed. The man bows and walks to the door. "Just ring this bell if you need anything, okay?" He asks. I nod. He turns towards the door. "Wait, what's your name?" I ask. "Thorald." He replies, nods, and walks out of the room.
I hug myself close and walk over to the window. I immediately open it. I look out and am in awe of the sight. I'm at the very top of the tallest tree. The stars are twinkling, the full moon illuminateing the crisp clear night air. A slight breeze floats about, sweeping through my hair. An owl hoots in the distance. I look at that beautiful full-moon again and feel a sudden urge to be out there in the forest under it's light. Maybe I could even catch a glimpse of those strange creatures that Quinlan told me about. I reluctantly shut the window and turn towards the door. I walk over to it and silently open it. It creaks and I freeze. I wait a couple seconds before slowly making my way down the thousands of stairs that are seperating me from the ground.
After a long while, I finally get to the bottom of the stairs. I equip myself with a belt of throwing daggers and a short sword. Then sneak out the door. I shut the door slowly until it clicks shut. I turn around to be face to face with one of the guards. "What are you doing out here at this time of night?" He asks. "Uhmmm... I was- uh, just getting... a... umm... a breath of fresh air. You know, it's kind of stuffy way up there." He looks at me, not buying it. "The windows do open, you know." He says. "Oh, I know- wait, they do? I had no idea. I'll just go back up and do that then." I say. I smile and turn to go back inside. I open the door and scold myself for not planning better. I, once again, start climbing thousands more stairs.
Once I reach my room again I start thinking of a plan. I would just climb down the tree, but it's only trunk, no branches. Also, the guards would see me. I look out my window and look down. The guard that stopped me is looking at me, so I wave and smile. I look at the tree in front of me and get an idea. The tree is about 20 ft away, and the top of the tree is about 5 ft lower than my window. If I could just find some rope...
I start digging through my drawers, then through a chest. At the very bottom of the chest is a longsword. Nope. No rope. I start pacing then I see another drawer in my vanity desk. I walk over there, silently praying. I open the drawer and see a roll of white rope. Yes! I grab that and walk over to my window. I look down to see if the guard is looking, but can't see him. I tie a noose and fling it onto the top of the tree in front of me, but I miss. I try again, and again.
Sometimes it takes a while to get the weight of the object you're throwing right and using that weight against gravity to get it to go where you want it to go. For me, this takes 6 trys. Because on the sixth try, it wraps around the tree top and tightens when I pull on it. Now, if I could find something over here to hook it onto, that would be great. Unfortunately, No such thing exists in this royal bedroom. Nothing sturdy enough. I guess I'll just have to swing. I look down at the guards but still can't see them. I stand up on my windowsill and grab the rope tightly. And... I jump.
As soon as I jump, I start climbing up the rope, while swinging, so I won't make as much noise when I crash. I see the tree getting closer, so I brace myself. Surprisingly, when I crash, I don't crash, I kind of just land. I did make some noise though, so I climb over to the backside of the tree. "Hey, what was that?" I hear one of the guards ask. "What? I didn't hear anything... Where did it come from?" The other one replies. "Over there. In that tree." I hear them say, then start walking closer. Something moves to my immediate left, and I jump a little. My head snaps towards the noise and I find an owl staring at me. "What are you- go! Go distract them!" I say to no one in particular, but pretend that the bird actually can understand me. The owl stares at me, then flys down to the guards. I sit there with my jaw on the floor. It- what? I shake my head and climb up to where my noose is tied. I untie my noose and start climbing down the tree.
When I get to the part of the tree that has no more branches, I tie the rope to the closest branch and start making my way to the ground. When I do get as close to the ground as I can, there is not enough rope to reach the ground. There's about 15 ft between me and the ground. Well, I guess I just jump. As soon as I let go, I try to grab the rope again but don't succeed. No!! How am I going to get back up now? I land on the ground with a soft thud and run into the forest. To see what secrets lie await for me there.

Hello again! Hope you liked this chapter. Tell me if I made any grammer or spelling mistakes on this one. Sorry, I haven't had very much time. I do have some fun news. Not sure if it's actually something you guys would be interested in but anyways, I'm going to be taking fencing at the college this semester, so that will be fun.
So, I am also going to be writing two new books. Because I have two really good idea's that I don't want to forget. So, please go check those out. Yes, they will also be medieval books. One might have a tiny teeny eensy weensy bit of romance in it, but the other one, not really.
Also, one more thing, I have this video on YouTube of me. And... Well... I kinda play the harp. So, yes, if you would spare some of you're time to check that out, then please do. And... subscribe if you like it please. :)
Okay, I think that's all. So, Ttfn! And I will hopefully see you soon. (Not really) :)
