Alexandra's POV
I woke up to another raining morning out here in the wilderness. I'm cold, wet, lost, and hungry. I have to make it to Lothandra by today. My muscles are weakening, the nights out here are unbearable, and my empty stomach is eating me from my insides out.
I pass a creek, and immediately think 'fish'! The creek is about 15 ft across, and looks about 8 ft deep to me. This should be the perfect river for catching fish in. But first, I need a fishing pole, a hook, and some bait. This should work.
For the fishing pole, I just broke a decent sized stick off a nearby tree. I then took some ivy, took the leaves off, and tied it to the stick. This should work.
For the hook, I took a rock and threw it so it shattered into a shard. It was only about 3/4 of an inch, so the fish could get caught easier. I did this a couple times, then tied it to my vine. This should work.
For the bait, I got a flattened stick and dug a hole. Then, with my hands, I dug a bit more until I found some worms and bugs. I used those as bait. This should work.
I took my pole and bait and headed over to the creek. I sure hope this works. But it should. I set my bait down, then threw my vine in. And... it flew into the creek and broke. No fish for me, I guess. Well, that's too bad. I just sat there looking at the creek for 10 minutes or so until I decided to start traveling again. Ugh... now I'd have to eat another meal of tree bark...
I walked another mile or so, until I stopped for my meal of tree bark. I walked over to a nearby tree and watched a squirrel sprint away. I kneeled down and started to peel off bark, watching the thousands of bugs hurry away as I tore away their homes.
I sat down next to the tree, and ate my meal of tree bark. I heard a squirrel in the tree, and some rustling in the bushes. Wait... some rustling in the bushes? Is it an animal? Is it... a huror? I quickly hide in some bushes, and plan an escape route. I watch carefully in the direction of the rustling. Nothing's happening... I wait what, ten minutes, before I decide that whatever it was had moved on.
"Did you hear that?" I hear a deep voice ask.
"Yeah, it was the same sound as ten minutes ago..." Another deep voice responds. A deep voice that belongs to someone I clearly remember.
I jump out of the bushes and run over to them. They both unsheathe their swords and point them at me. I stand there in confusion. Do they not remember me? Do they not know who I am? The realization hits me, that I am probably so dirty and hurt, that I look completely different. Both Quinlan and Thorald dismount and slowly advance in on me. What if they actually did forget who I am and are going to kill me now?
I turn and run. I hear they're heavy footsteps right behind me. I sprint in between tree's and jump over fallen logs. But I somehow missed jumping over a certain root, because I tripped and fell on my stomach, cradling my broken arm, so I don't injure it more. Quinlan and Thorald are right next to me, pointing their swords at my throat. Thorald grabs my neck, and pins me up against a tree, while bringing his blade slightly in contact with my skin, but not enough to draw blood.
"Quinlan." I breath out.
I see his gaze harden. Maybe... maybe he did forget me... But then his gaze softens. I breath out a small sigh of relief.
"Let her go Thorald." Quinlan commands.
Thorald drops me. I fall to my knees and grasp my neck, gasping for breath. Out of the corner of my eye, I see Quinlan walk over to me. He kneels down beside me, and I drop my hands from my neck and look up into his eyes. He cups my face with his right hand and looks deeply into my eyes. He clenches his jaw hard, and I can tell that he's really struggling with something. I lift my hand to put on his cheek, but he un-cups my face and stands up before I can.
"She's fine." Quinlan tells his brother.
Wait... he didn't- he wasn't actually... maybe I've thought wrong about him this whole time. Maybe he doesn't love me...
Quinlan's POV
I kneel down and cup her face with my right hand. I missed her so much, I just want to kiss her. It's forbidden. It's not aloud. My brain reminds me. I clench my jaw and stare deeply into her eyes. I can't- I can't resist the urge to kiss her right now. I see her begin to raise her hand to place it on my cheek. If she does that, there will be no stopping me. I just want to kiss her beautiful lips. Why is that such a sin? Right as she is just about to place her hand on my cheek, I pull away and stand up. I can see her face still from the corner of my eye, and even though she always keeps a straight face, I can still see the pain in her eyes.
Alexandra's POV
Why does he do that? Why does he show me that he loves me, then pull away? Is he scared? Does he not really love me? I thought girls were supposed to be complicated. Not boys. But really, it's the other way around. Why?? WHY??
I am put on the back of Quinlan's horse, and we start our journey home. We should get to Lothandra by late night tonight. I sigh, lean my head on Quinlan's shoulder and wrap my arms around his waist, as I drift off into a light sleep.

So... hello... I FINALLY got a chapter out. I'm really really sorry about the length, it's pretty short... I've just been so busy lately. Doing school (spring break starts on the twelfth for me), going to work, studying for classes at the college, keeping household responsibilities up, practicing my instrument..., and writing three different books. One of which, I want to talk about.
"What Happens If..." is my newest book. I had all my Wattpad friends create a character and I put them in the book. :) Please check that out. All of my friends are amazing, and awesome, and all of them are worth getting to know. :) So, you can find that book on my profile. So please vote, comment, and read, that book and show your support for friends! :)
You all are amazing if you've stuck with me this far. :D And obviously all of you have. :) There is going to be some exciting romancey stuff coming up. Hee hee hee... Let's hope I don't utterly fail with this... and if I do, then please tell me so I can stop embarrassing myself. XD I'm just hoping that nobody walks into the room while I'm typing that stuff or they'll see a scarlet red blushing creepy girl at a computer and wonder what I am watching or doing. Note: This will be nothing serious. The romance stuff will be mostly kissing, no... disgusting... yeah, no. So... sorry if you were looking for that, but no, you'll have to look somewhere else. Sorry. Okay, I'll see you in the next chappie!! Bye!!
