I groaned as the sun invaded my eyes early the next morning, waking me from my glorious sleep.  Kate was sitting on my bed staring at me.  "What?"  I mumbled.

"We have to get up.  We only have an hour until we have to be at the field."  She told me.  She had a gleam in her eye so I knew she was not anywhere near done.  "So you and Evan disappeared last night, huh?  I didn’t want to ask in front of Justin and Matt, but what the hell?  Tell me everything!"

And there it was.  I groaned as I stretched and sat up.  "He brought me to the roof of the hotel to show me the view.  It was amazing.  Then he started telling me all these things I wanted to hear, and then we ended up kissing.  He left to find Ali though.  So in the end, he still chose to go home with her over me.  He didn't even come to Justin's with me.  I am so confused.  I just wish he would tell me exactly what the hell is going on!"  I whined.  "And now we have to go play la Brea again.  The last thing I want is to face Olivia and Brianna.  They still hate me.  Life just sucks."

"Okay, enough with the pity party."  She laughed.  "Liv and Bri don't hate you.  In fact, they miss you.  It just got so messy with Jackson.  No one knew how to handle that.  Come on, we're teenage girls.  Since when do we do things logically?  Maybe after we all graduate we should take that road trip we planned when we were younger.  You know, a weekend in Palm Springs or something.  Something to bring us all together again.  Doesn't that sound awesome?"

"It does, actually.  Or, maybe we should just go to San Francisco for a week?"  I suggested.

"Orrrr we could get up and get ready to go play our very important lacrosse game."  She teased.  "Come on, up and at it!"

I laughed, but got up off my bed and putted over to the bathroom.  I took a quick shower to get all the hairspray and glitter off me, and then quickly changed into my uniform and my signature high pony tail with FHS colored ribbons.  I was so ready for this.  All I needed was two goals today to break the school's record for most goals in a season.  I think I can make this happen!  Not like it made a difference at this point in time since I was graduating, but it would still be pretty cool.

We skipped down the stairs, grabbing Erica along the way, just to find a very pissed off Mike sitting at the kitchen table arguing with Matt and Mark.  “Oh, good.  You’re here.”  He said calmly, even though his face appeared demonic.  I cringed under his stare.  “Want to explain this?”  He held up a plastic bag, but I had no idea what it was.  When I reached out to take it from him, I saw that Erica’s pregnancy test was inside it.  The little pink plus sign was staring me in the face.  “You’re pregnant?  You’re fucking pregnant?  Where is Evan?  I’m going to fucking murder him.”  He yelled, throwing the pregnancy test at me.  “Do you have any idea who gets pregnant at our age, Meghan?  Sluts, that’s who!  You want everyone to know you’re a big whore who can’t keep her legs shut?  What the fuck is wrong with you?”  He screamed.

I glanced behind me at Erica.  Her eyes were wide, and she looked terrified.  I wasn’t about to out her to her best friend, so I gave her a small smile.  She realized what I meant, and shook her head slightly, but I ignored her silent plea to keep my mouth shut.  “What can I say, Mike?  I love sex.  And I thought you would be a little more excited.  You could try this whole thing called supporting people you care about.  I understand that it’s hard to care about anyone but yourself, but you should really give it a try.”  I taunted.

“New rule.  Go to your room.  You’re not playing in the game today.”  He demanded.

“Screw you.  You’re not my father.  You can’t just treat me like a child whenever you’re not happy.  You don’t even care about this, you just don’t like that I did it behind your back.”
