"So we'll talk later about this, right?" Evan asked me as we straightened ourselves out and got ready to leave the closet. I gave myself a final check before I pulled my backpack back over my shoulders. There were only a few minutes left in this period, so I had to make my way towards my last class before I was late again. I was slightly proud of myself for spending the last 75 minutes making out inside a closet with my old enemy, it just wasn’t something I did. I'm a good girl, an obedient girl, a cooperative girl. Not the girl who goes and makes out with random guys in closets at school. I have to admit though, it felt pretty powerful. Knowing that Matt and Mark could be just around the corner added to the excitement of what I was doing. Evan and I didn’t really talk about anything while we were in there, just kissed and kissed and kissed and kissed some more. I might not know much about the area, but let me tell you, Evan is good at what he does!
"Yeah, of course." I answered. "I don't really know what this is. I'm honestly a little confused." I pouted.
He flicked my bottom lip that was sticking out and laughed as I scrunched my nose at him. "Well, to sum it up, I like you, and I want to make sure you're very clear on that."
"Meh." I shrugged. "I don't think I got that memo."
"No?" He asked, raising his eyebrows at me.
I shook my head. "Nope, I was too busy thinking about how weird it was that your tongue was down my throat." He just laughed at me and picked his backpack up off the floor. I took that as my cue to leave, and we snuck out of the closet and out into the hallway. Luckily, there was no one coming, so we were safe.
"So what are you doing tonight?" He asked casually as we made our way down the hall.
"Nothing exciting. Picking up Max from school, bringing him to basketball, dropping Mark off at the church, then going home and making dinner for everyone."
"Wow, your family sure keeps you busy." He let out a low whistle. "I don't know how you do it."
"I love them." I shrugged. "We're close, so we just do what we have to do. It hasn’t been easy for my dad, so we all chip in and do what we can."
"Yeah, I guess so. I just can’t imagine being responsible for so many other people. It's like you’re already a mother."
"Not even close. We all work equally hard."
"You're something else, Bucky." He told me.
"Why do you still call me that?" I asked curiously. "I mean, other than you, no one but my brothers call me that."
"Well, we were friends once, remember? If I recall correctly, I was there the day that we gave you that name." He bumped my shoulder with his own, the force of his athletic body nearly knocking me over.
I laughed as I straightened myself up. "Watch it, you big oaf! You trying to beat me up?"
"He shook his head. "Never!" His eyes were wide at my accusation.
"Relax, I'm just teasing you." I told him.
"Meghan!" We heard someone shouting my name from down the hall. "Meg!"
We both turned around, and saw that Matt was stalking down the hall in my direction. "Shit!" Evan muttered under his breath.
"Chill out!" I hissed at him. "Hey, Matt. What's up?"
Matt approached us, not even acknowledging that Evan was there. "Hey, Meg. How was your free block? Get a lot done?"
Crap. Crap, crap, crap. He knows. "Yeah, Matt. What are you doing out already?" I was so nervous I could practically feel my heart attempting to burst out of my chest.
