Reminton's POV

We woke up for work and got to the studio excruciatingly early. Niall and Zayn were both very crabby. I've learned they are not morning people. The only ones who seemed to be in good spirits today were Liam and I, and the only reason I was happy was because I was on my 5th cup of coffee and it was only 9am. We got to our studio area and all the boys flopped down on the couch. Trixie and Stewart were in the room with us today, but this was ultimately my project, so it was up to me to get down to business.

"Alright, so I figured we should just start working on Best Song Ever. Our song order, we'll just go down the list. Taking as much time as necessary. You all have solos in this piece, so I think we will spend the first half of the day learning them, and the second half recording. We'll work our harmonies tomorrow. Sound good?" I asked everyone and they all just nodded in agreement. "Okay." I said, passing out the lyrics to the songs to everyone.

"Oh wow." Niall said, "This is different."

"Different good, or different bad?" I asked him, hesitant.

"Different good, I guess, I sing a lot." He sounded surprised.

"Yeah, and it's going to rock! Let's go." I hoped to boost his confidence. We spent the whole day learning the songs. Each boy taking turns with me to learn the notes and heading into the studio the second half of the day. We only recorded the solos, not wanting to rush them into harmonies right away. They're not easy. Everything was going really well, they all sounded great, but toward the end of the day I could tell they were getting tired. I got a good amount of clips of each of their solos, so I figured we could call today successful.

"Alright guys, that's a wrap for today. You all look strained." I said and they all cheered, obviously happy to go home. They exited the sound booth and walked toward the door. Except Harry, who walked straight to my side.

"Today wasn't so bad, eh?" He asked, walking out of the studio area with me.

"No, it was good. You all sound great." I smiled at him.

"Awesome, so should we head back?" He asked.

"Cant, I have to meet Simon." I reminded him.

"Oh yeah! Do you want me to wait for you?" He asked.

"No it's okay, go back. I'll find a ride." I say and he gives me a quick kiss.

"See ya later! Love ya!" He says, running to the van outside.

"Love you too." I say, walking toward the elevators and up to Simon's office. I greet the receptionist I met on the first day. "Hey Lucy! Is Simon available?" I ask her, smiling. She looks up from what she's doing and nods.

"Yeah, go right in!" She says. I walk over to the door and knock before entering anyway. "Hello Simon!" I say, walking into his office and sitting down.

"Hello Remington! How was day two?" He inquired.

"Really good, thanks! We recorded the boy's solos of a new song." I informed him and he smiled approvingly.

"Very good, very good. Well, I really only called you in here to discuss the song you wrote for the boys. It's really, very good. I like it a lot." He says and I try not to blush from flattery.

"Thank you sir. I surprised myself as well." I said and he laughed lightly.

"Do you have any other songs Remington?" He asked me

"Yeah loads, they aren't necessarily poppy though." I said, thinking about the songs I sang for the boys what seemed like forever ago.

"That's okay. I was actually wondering if you wanted to record demos. Song's I can show to other artists, for them to record, but you would sing the melody and sell it to them." He said and my jaw dropped. I will never understand why Simon likes me so much, but he keeps giving me these opportunities of a lifetime.

"Become a songwriter?" I asked to clarify.

"Yes, if you are interested, but there's a catch. I'd take you off the One Direction project for a bit." He said, and this deal didn't sound so fantastic anymore.

"Oh.." I said, trailing off.

"I would just take you off the recording part of it, so for the first 4 months. You'd be put back on the project for the mixing, which is ultimately where I wanted you on the project. Also, if you take the deal of becoming a songwriter, not only will you be paid for the songs you record, but I will also work out a way to turn this internship into a paid internship. Financially and in experience terms, this is a good deal Remington." He informed me and I bit my lip. He's right. This is beyond my wildest dreams. "But I understand you've grown very close to the boys, so if you want to stay on the project with just them, I understand. I just believe you are very talented and driven, and I see great things coming to you. I want to be able to help you in every way that I can." He adds. I nod that I understand.

"I appreciate that. Honestly Simon, thank you. You're an amazing person. I just... I need some time to think it over. I really like working with the guys, but being able to record my own songs and profit off them... both sides have pros and cons." I explained to him what was going through my head.

"I understand. I wont make you pick right this second. I'd like an answer by the end of the day on Friday, please? That will give me a weekend to figure out if I need to come up with a team for the boy's recording schedule. That gives you 3 days. Can you let me know by then?" He asked me.

"Yeah, of course. Just let me talk to some people and get other people's points of view on this one. I'll let you know by Friday. Thank you again Simon, so much." I said, and he smiled. I then got up and walked out the door. After leaving Simon's office I walked to one of the little lounge areas in the studio and sat down. Collecting my thoughts. I honestly had no idea what to do, but I knew one thing. I needed to talk to Harry.
