She just nodded and followed him. She had once fed from an human. But that human had been dead. So that was not really the same thing. But she had lost her control in front her father anyway. Who knew how she was going to react with a living human being?

The rain pattered on the leaves over them while they walked in the woods to the more distant part of the town. Would she ever be able to handle the craving that she would feel? She had done so many things lately that she had ended up regretting. She looked up at Louis. He had an emotionless expression on his face as he stared on the trail in front of them.

She wondered what he was thinking about. If he was thinking about his own problems or her. And if he thought about her, what did he think? Did he love her? Or just used her? She had no idea and it annoyed her. Because she had really strong feeling for him, and she had just woken up with them. Like she actually had been born to fall for Louis. But did she really love him? Her feelings for him had appeared so fast, it all was just so overwhelming and confusing. She just had to wait and see.

Suddenly he stopped and turned to her.

     “Choose.”

She looked out on the street. She saw a man and a woman on each side of the street. The woman was the one that was closest. So she pointed at her and he nodded.

     “Stay here.”

Then he left her and walked up the woman. She looked kind of flattered and twirled her finger around a strand of blonde hair. She took him by the arm and followed him towards Brooke. Stupid idiot. She had no idea what was going to happen.

When they stopped infront of Brooke, the woman turned to Louis.

“Dean, who is this?” she asked and eyed Brooke up and down.

Brooke frowned. Who was Dean?

“You are gonna do me a little favor, Claire, okay with that?” He slid his fingers across her cheek and grinned. She backed away.

      “What is this?”

Louis turned to Brooke and raised an eyebrow like he wanted to tell her that it was the right time for her to attack.

Brooke hesitated and Louis grabbed Claire by the arm.

     “Stop it, you’re hurting me.”

“Brooke, come on, you can do this.”

She shooke her head and felt tears in her eyes.

“Brooke, I promise, you can do this. Trust me.”

Brooke whiped her eyes and walked towards Claire. Claire tried to get out of Louis’ grip, but he had the strength of twenty men together, so she had no chance. She fought hard, to be honest. But Brooke was stronger than her too.

Brooke grabbed her head while Louis held her arms. Claire screamed and Louis put a hand over her mouth. Brooke tilted Claire’s head to the side. She could smell the blood under Claire’s skin. She looked up at Louis. He nodded to her and gave her a little comforting smile. She leaned in to Claire’s neck and was just about to bite when she felt sick and stepped back.

“Louis, I can’t do this. Let her go.”

      “No, Brooke.”

He gave her an annoyed look and buried his face in Claire’s neck. Brooke could see her eyes fill up with pain and fright. She tried to hit him where she could reach. But it probably felt like a fly irritating a horse. Louis backed off and held her in front of him. She had a wound on her neck that bled.
