One and Only

Chapter 7

I got woken up by Mikey's morning text. He always texts me before he goes to school.

From: Mikey Bear
Good Morning, Beautiful. I hope you're sleeping well. I miss you. My parents told the rude people at the dinner, that you had every right to do it. No how many zeros he had next to his name. I just wanted to tell you. See you after school. I love youuu

To: Mikey Bear
Good morning, my love. Have a decent day at school. I would say good day but then again it's school, so I'll go with decent.
Your parents didn't have to do that. I'm thankful that they did though.
I love youuu.

It's already 8:30 I guess I could get up. Moms probably at work which means I have nothing to do until she gets home. She still hasn't given me the keys back, which also means I can't go anywhere. I could shower and start packing things in my room. Mom got a huge stack of moving boxes and tape. That's probably how I'll spend my morning. I get out of bed and go to take a shower. Or should I wait to shower later since I'm going to pack stuff and probably sweat. Yeah that's probably smarter. I go downstairs to grab some boxes and tape. I decide to play music while packing stuff. I put it on Pandora because I have no clue what song to listen to. Once I find a song I actually like, I tape the bottom of the box together. I need to pack the things I don't use all the time. Because mom never picked a day we're moving in yet. I fill that box up with stuff. Yay. One back done. Time to get a second one. I tape together the other one and start putting things into it. I start filling up box after box. I lost track of time. When I stopped to look at the clock it was already 3. Mom and Leda both should be getting home. I haven't ate yet. Better do that.
I walk downstairs and look in the refrigerator. There isn't much to choose from. I'll warm up last nights dinner mom cooked. I grab a plate to put it on and stick it in the microwave. As I was warming up my food, the front door opened. It's either mom or Leda.
Mom walks into the kitchen.
"Hi sweetie."
"Hi mom."
"What did you do today?" She asked
"I packed mostly everything in my room. When are we moving in?"
"Sometime this week coming. Probably Friday or Saturday." She replies.
I get my food from the microwave and go into the living room to eat. I turn on the tv to some random show. Mom comes and sits beside me after she changes.
"Joan called me."
"Why?" I question
"She said that she was so sorry for what those people said at the dinner. Her and Jaxson left after you two did."
"It's okay. I wasn't mad at them. I wasn't upset with what they said. I got angry because they thought if you have a lot of zeros by your name you should get away with things."
"I know sweetie. No everyone sees it that way. They see it as loosing business." She says and places her hand on mine
I nod my head. Which she is right. People have different views.
Mom gets up and starts walking towards the kitchen.
She turns around, "Hey Thea. I have something for you."
I turn to look at her. She tosses my keys at me. I catch them in midair.
"There's a key to the new house as well." She says and smiles
I get up and run to hug her. "Thank you!"
"You're welcome." She said and squeezes me.

Hello my beautiful Princess. I have to go to my house for a while and then I'll come see you."

To: Mikey Bear
I'll probably be at the new house. Text me before you leave and I'll let you know which one I'm at.

I might go ahead and take the boxes I packed over to the new house. I go upstairs and grab two and take them to put in the car. I have to go back up to my room because I packed like 5. I finally get all the boxes inside the car, and I tell mom I'm leaving.
I drive to the new house. Luckily there is a two car garage so I don't have to park outside. But today I do. I park in the driveway next to the house. I don't have to walk that far carrying boxes. I go back out to grab the last box when I hear someone yelling. I look around and find a middle aged man along with a son that looks about my age.
