One and Only

Thea has had a hard past. Her father left her and her family several years ago. Since then Thea has left out a secret. Her father abused her. Mentally, sometimes physically, and sexually. She has terrible nightmares some nights. Mikey is the only one who can calm her down and remind her she's not in the dream. She also suffers with depression. She's working on that. Thea and mikey both are 17 turning 18. Mikey turns 18 on July 15th and Thea turns 18 on September 8th. They are seniors in high school. But they both will be accept by different colleges hours away from each other.

Chapter 1:
Hiya. I'm Thea. Let me give you the idea of this story and hopefully not bore you. Bare with me. I am currently 17 I'll be 18 in September 8th. I am also a senior in high school. One more year and I'm out of that place. I have 3 siblings; 2 are older and 1 is younger. My older brother and sister are out about in the world. Meanwhile, I live at home with my mom and sister, Leda. She's 16. Also a sophomore in high school. And then there's Mikey. Mikey and I grew up together. We've lived on the same street since we were little. He's been my best friend for as long as I can remember. He's an amazing person. He's so kind, funny, sweet, and all around wonderful. He's been at my side ever since 4 years ago. 4 years ago is when my father left me and my family. While going through the divorce, things came out. Things I was never suppose to say. But I said them. I had proof. My father went to jail. You see, I was abused. I was mentally, sexually, and sometimes even physically abused. Ever since then, I've had this thing called depression. It has gotten better since then. But some days are still tough. Mikey has been the knight in shinning armor since then.

*Last few days of summer*

I heard the dreadful noise of my alarm clock going off to my right. I swing my arm over and click that off. I'm trying to get use to waking up by alarm again since school starts again in like 3 days. The only good thing about that is its
my senior year. Then it's off to college to become a lawyer.
I go into the bathroom to wash my face. I normally look like a raccoon when I wake up. I find some clothes. Today it will be a blue cut off shirt and some black skinny jeans. And let's not forget my pair of Vans. After I get dressed and put some makeup on. Nothing overboard. Just some eyeliner and mascara. I head down to the kitchen where my mom and Leda should be.

"Good morning sweetie." My mom says.

"Morning mom. Morning Leda." I reply.

"Morning." Leda grumbles back.

As mom was making pancakes for breakfast I warm up pizza from last night. I'm not a fan of breakfast food. I only eat it like once a month. A lot of people don't understand it. I just rather eat food instead of breakfast food.

"Hey mom, can I hang out with Mikey today?"
"Yeah. If you guys don't get food, you can come here for dinner."
"Thanks mom."

I guess I should go get ready since I lounged around all day and did nothing. I'll wear my black skinny jeans, a white shirt and a hoodie. I get cold at night. It's almost 7. Mikey should be coming.

"Thea, Mikey is here" Leda calls from down stairs.
"I'm coming."

I walk down the stairs two at a time. Yes, I'm that excited. Mikey smiles when his eyes land on me. I love his smile.
"Ready to go?" Mikey asks as he opens the door.
"More than ever." I reply as I walk out the door.

"So, where to today, my lady?" Mikey asks while putting his arm out for me to grab.

"I could go for some ice cream." I say as I grab onto his arm.
