McKayla

I've basically been living at Kris' house since January. My house, that is not a home. My mom comes in and out and my dad can't seem to put the beer down. Since I don't have to try and convince Kyle that all is well there's just no point in me being there. Luckily Mike and Sue have been willing to take me in and help me get through it all. They already have two boys but Nick moved out a while ago and they have to admit it's nice having a girl around.

I sit in Mike and Sues room as I get ready for prom. She agreed to do my hair and makeup because I'm clueless in that department. I wore a full length white dress with cross cross straps that gave me freedom to move my arms. There was a small gold belt around my waist that had gold detailing above it and flowed loosely below it. I stand up and straighten out my dress then look at the final product. She had curled my long blonde hair and veered away from the over bearing make up.

"You look beautiful" she says standing behind me with her hands on my shoulders. I loved Sue with all my heart. She didn't have to do any of this but she wanted to. She was the closest thing I had to a mother.

"Thanks Sue. Do you think Kris will like it" I wonder.

"He will absolutely love it" she assures me. I walk downstairs where Kris was talking with his dad at the island. I take a deep breath before descending down the stairs and making my way over to him. I catch his dads glance first as he smiles at me. That caused Kris to turn around and I finally find those beautiful blue eyes.

"Wow McKayla... you look stunning" he trails off.

"Thanks. You look really good too" I admit. Like really good. We take some pictures at his house before meeting our friends to take some more pictures.

"You seriously look amazing" Kris says again and I start to blush. That was new.

"Thanks Kris" I whisper and he nods. Things seem different. I don't know if it's good different or bad different but it was different. We take probably a million pictures before heading to prom to dance the night away.

"Kris hasn't taken his eyes off of you all night" my friend Amanda tells me. I've noticed that too but didn't want to bring it up.

"Yeah, things have been kind of weird lately" I admit. No one knew I moved into his house or that we are so close.

"Why is that" she wonders.

"I don't know. We've always been close but lately I always have this urge to hug him or talk to him or touch him. He's been my best friend for so long but something has changed, I'm not sure what is going on" I mention.
