Adley.
"Wait! It isn't what it looks like!" Ashton yelled, but it was too late. I was already half way down the street, a fresh batch of tears making their way down my cheeks.
We'd barely been apart for a month, how could he have already moved on?
And to Olivia?
The whole situation made me sick to my stomach.
I could barely muster up the strength to drag myself from the car into the house, blowing past Luke, Michael, and Calum as I did so.
"Whoa, wait up!" Calum called after me.
I ignored his request, making a beeline to my bedroom before slamming the door.
I collapsed on the bed in a fit of sobs so violent I was worried I was going to make myself sick.
"Open up," he yelled, pounding his fist against the wood of the door.
Even if I'd wanted to, I wouldn't have been able to get myself up to unlock the door.
My mind was frozen on the image of Olivia peeking around the corner, Ashton's sweatshirt hanging loose around her shivering figure.
The smile that toyed at her lips told me that she knew exactly what she was doing, and it infuriated me that Ashton would even let her back into his life after the mess she caused.
"That's it, I'm kicking this door down," Calum yelled, but was stopped by someone outside.
I assumed it was Luke, because I heard a key being inserted into the door before it flung open with such force it nearly punctured the wall.
"Jesus, Adley," Calum grumbled under his breath upon seeing my teary state.
I didn't move a muscle even as he took a seat beside me.
"You have to calm down, you're going to be sick if you keep working yourself up like this."
"Tell me something I don't know," I sobbed.
"Come on, sit up."
I felt his hands slip under my arms and latch onto my sides, pulling me into an upright position.
He wiped the tears from my cheeks with the back of his hand before reaching out and capturing me into a much-needed embrace.
"It's okay," he soothed, his fingers making their way through my tangled hair.
"He was with Olivia," I choked, causing another wave of tears to erupt.
"I know."
I wasn't sure what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't that.
"What do you mean you know?"
"I knew that Olivia was at Ashton's. That's why I came over here, to make sure that you stayed far away from his house, but that clearly didn't work out."
"Why didn't you call me or something?" I asked angrily.
If only he had distracted me, I would never have even known that Ashton had any interaction with Olivia at all.
"Hey, don't start with me. I had no idea that you were going to go over to his house. You haven't made any effort to do so in the last month, there was no way I could have known that today would finally be the day you decide to do it."
I wanted to argue, but I knew he was right.
"I'm sorry, I know it isn't your fault."
"Apology accepted," he replied, a hint of a smile invading his features.
