Adley.

Ever since I'd seen Noah, my anxiety was at an all time high.

I jumped at every loud noise, no matter what it was.

And, every time Ashton so much as touched my shoulder, I flinched.

I could tell that it hurt him every time I shyed away from his touch, and that was the last thing I wanted to do, but I couldn't help it.

My nightmares were also at an all time high, leaving me shaking and panicking so badly that even Ashton's touch couldn't help.

I knew he was losing his patience with my constant flinching and worsening nightmares, though he didn't mean to, so it wasn't a surprise when he decided that we needed to do something to get my mind off of everything.

"Let's go on a trip," he suggested, looking at me for approval.

"A trip?"

"Yeah, like a little vacation," he confirmed, "Just for the weekend."

"Where would we go?" I asked, sure that if he had brought it up he must have had something planned.

"Well, I have a cabin a couple hours away. It's kind of secluded but it would be perfect for just the two of us," he explained.

"Sounds perfect."

And, it did.

A weekend away from everything that had happened with my favorite person sounded like exactly what I desperately needed.

"Alright, babe. We leave late tonight so that we can get up there early tomorrow. So get packing," he instructed, pressing a quick kiss to my lips before sending me up the stairs.

It was nearly midnight by the time we got everything packed and ready to go, and to say I was exhausted was an understatement.

All of the middle of the night panic attacks and constant fear had really started tp mess with my sleep schedule.

Ashton, on the other hand, was wide awake.

"Sleep, Ads, I'll wake you up when we get there," he promised.

"No, I don't want you to have to be awake all by yourself," I argued, fighting off the drowsiness.

"You can barely keep your eyes open," he laughed.

"Yes I can!"

"Seriously, I'll be fine. I've got the radio to keep me company."

I sighed, wanting to argue more, but knowing that my drooping eyelids would most likely give me away.

"Wake me up if you need anything?"

"Of course, goodnight baby, I love you," he said softly, making my heart flutter.

"I love you too," I mumbled before the exhaustion took over.

I didn't wake up again until I felt Ashton shake my shoulders ever so lightly.

"We're here," he whispered, causing me to wake up fully.

I blinked a couple of times, taking in the view around me.

Beautiful trees, their leaves in the midst of changing colors, surrounded a beautiful little cabin.

"Ashton," I breathed, "This is gorgeous."

"Yeah? I thought you would like it," he smiled, wrapping his arms around me from behind.

"I love it," I agreed.
