The moment seemed to last forever. Maybe this will work.
"Im-." I begin to say,but Charlie won't let me.
"Don't be sorry." He somehow knows what I'm going to say.
I don't know what to do, I walk out of my room, not looking at Charlie. I know he's behind me. I burst into joes room, where's he editing a video. He turns from his laptop and looks at me.
"You alright?" He questions
"Have I ever been?"
"Talk to me."
I walk towards him and sit on his bed.
"So what's up?" He asks, looking at me.
"I like him."
"By him you mean Charlie right?"
"Yeah..." I swallow.
"He likes you too."
"I know it's just..."
"It's just what?"
"I don't want to get hurt and I can't hurt him."
"Where is he?"
"In my room."
"So you left him?"
"Yes....."
"Why?"
I don't say anything.
"Why?" Joe echoes.
"Everybody leaves, maybe not right now. But one day,I'll be gone, you won't even notice."
"Why wouldn't I?"
"You wouldn't even care."
I run out of his room. I can't do this anymore. I see Charlie,he looks at me. Worried.
"Sorry." I whisper,but I don't think he hears me.
I can feel him walking behind me, I walk down the stairs and into the kitchen. I look around. No ones going to miss me.
I feel two hands slowly wrap around my waist, I realise who it is. I put my head under his.
"I'm so sorry."
"There's no need to be."
"There is." I mumble, but he hears me.
"Like what?"
"Making it out that hospital alive."
I start to cry,I don't know why,it just all pours out of me.
"You realise that your perfect right?" Charlie says, pulling me closer to him.
"Perfect girls don't do what i do,perfect girls are happy. That's not me."
But I am happy,when I'm with him.
"Come on you must be happy sometimes."
"Your right,I am happy sometimes."
"So you can be happy then."
"Only when your around." As soon as those words came out I instantly realise how cringe I must sound.
He un-wraps his arms from around me and hugs me.
"I love you." He says, whilst staring into my eyes.
"I love you too." I say back, hugging him.
"Your going to be alright,I promise."
"If I will be alright then so will you."
Joe stands in the kitchen door,I don't know how long he's been there for. He just looks at me,awkwardly.
