ANNA

"What? You're getting married to Nathyalie's Dad? How did that happen?"

"My grandfather just maneuvered me to marry him. I guess he is also doing the same."

"Does he know?"

"Oh Jack I don't know. He does not seem interested in me or in Nathalie. But he is giving Nathalie special treatment. I don't know if he knows but he may as well hate me too."

"Why don't you tell him?"

"Come on on why will I tell him> He refuses to remember me. Do you know that he can not remember me? That bastard. He looks at me as if he does not know of my existence. Gosh Jack."

"Hahaha I told you, you better tell him. Hey, guess what, I am dating this woman from nNew Jersey. the one I told you about?"

"So after you divorsed me you went on seeing her? Come on Jack you can not be that cruel."

"By the way, he does not answer to the name Carlos Artadi anymore. He is called Atty. Joaquin Carlos Artadi- Escudero. And he does not seem to remember me at all."

"What? You're getting married?"

"YEs Mom."

"When?"

"I have no ideas. We are going to announce the engagement tonight. Do you wanna come?"

"Are we supposed to be there?"

"Not really. It will just be me and her and the rest of the business society. Her grandfather will be there though. But I told them you are not in Manila so the old man said it's okay as long as you will be there on my wedding day."

"Do you like this anak ko?"

Mom, if Nathalie is the daughter of Carlos, then I guess I will just have to agree with the conditions. Mom, Carla will get a share of 50 million pesos also. And my 50 Million pessos share will be given to Nathalie. I told Don Francisco that I will not agree with the terms if my share will not be given to Nathalie. I huess it is just but proper that she gets it."

"But how about you anak?"

"Well, we'll just cross the bridge when we get there. If this marriage will not work, we still have an option, annulment. I guess that won't take long cause Anna, really hates me. I guess she thought I am Carlos."

"Are you sure it's Carlos?"

"That, I still have to discover. Pasasaan ba't malalaman ko din ang totooMommy. Si Anna galit na galit sa akin eh at tinatawag niya akong Atty Artadi. So I was thinking, bakit ako Atty Artadi eh ang pagkakaalam ko Atty Escudero ako ipinakilala."

"Anak, huwag kang papasok sa isang sitwasyon na hindi ka masaya."

"Mom, we need to be sure. Tsaka wala naman mawawala sa akin kung pakakasal ako klay Anna eh. Tsaka pareho lang kami nun, ayaw namin sa isa't isa."

"Okay anak. I hope that you know what you're doing. If you need me, dito lang ako. Hindi naman kita pwedeng pigilan kasi alam ko na alam mo naman ang ginagawa mo."

"Mom tulog muna ako. I need to get some strength before tonight."

"Okay anak."

ANNA

Nasan kaya ang lalaking yun? Hindi man lang siya nagsalita against sa gusto ni Abuelo. Hay nakakainis and he still pretends he does not know me. Ano ba kasi ang problema niya at hindi man lang niya ako maalala? Akala niya hahabulin ko siya. Eh siya na nga itong ipapakasal sa akin at maghahati pa kami sa dapat ako lang ang may mana. Teka, kaya ba ako ipinatawag ni Abuelo dito sa Pilipinas para ipakasal sa lalaking yun?

"Really Mom? you're getting married to the lawyer?"

"Yes because that is what your grandfather wants."

"Are you not going to dis agree with him? I mean it's your life."

"I have and he won't listen. Maybe we should go back to the US and run away from all these. We don't need that much money right? We need to go back home."

"Mom, this is home. We don't belong in America, this is where we belong. Our families are here. And Mom, Atty JC isn't that bad either. You just don't like him. Give him a chance Mom, he's a nice guy."

"Whatever Nathalie."

"Mom am I coming too?"

"You want to come?"

"Nope. I'll get bored."

"Not even to cheer me up?"

"No Mom, this is a grown up thing. And don't drink. You will not like to get drunk on your engagement day you know."
