Zeref was the first to wake up. He didn't really sleep, it was more like resting. He stood up and walked through the heap of what was made up of fairy tail members. He fondly gazed at everyone while they slept soundly - levy was sleeping on gajeel's arm, Lucy in natsu's arms, Mira cuddled up with Laxus, Jellal's hand around Ezra's waist and Juvia's head on Gray's lap. They were all probably worn out by all the fighting and all the magical power they had lost.
Zeref couldn't help feeling a twinge of jealousy that everyone had found their true love - except for Romeo and Wendy who were just kids but even they seemed to like each other too. His thoughts drifted to mavis and he wondered when was the last time he had met her.
"Hello zeref" a voice spoke.
Zeref spun around to face HIS true love - Mavis. He couldn't believe it...he was just thinking about her. She stood there, an innocent smile on her face and her hair left open.
"No...No! Mavis get away from me! I'll hurt you again! Please leave!" Zeref pleaded, his eyes wide open.
"It doesn't matter Zeref. Not anymore. Love will always defeat darkness and I love you so we don't have to be afraid." Mavis said, gently.
Zeref was taken a back by her words. She loved him? This was turning out to be one of the best days ever. First natsu accepts him as his brother, he is forgiven by Lucy and fairy tail and now Mavis confesses her love for him!?
"You love me?" Zeref asked, his body tingling with happiness.
"Yes Zeref ! I do!" Mavis smiled as she reach forward and hugged him.
Zeref stiffened but loosened up and said, "I love you too!"
They stood there embracing each other, feeling happy.
"Ahem..." Said a person from behind them.
They both turned around to find Erza and the fairy tail members ,who had woken up ,trying to look away, feeling embarrassed.
Zeref jumped back and said," We were...u know...um"
"It's ok! We knew that you loved Mavis!" Lucy said smiling.
Zeref just smiled and looked at Mavis, who returned the smile.
~~~after an hour~~~
"We've been walking for almost 45 minutes!" Complained happy, who was flying beside Lucy and natsu.
"Shut it cat! You're flying and we are WALKING! So you have nothing to complain about!" Lucy replied, annoyed.
"I want fish!" Happy said, landing onto Natsu's shoulder.
"Looks like you won't be getting any, because guess what!? YOU DONT FIND FISH IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE!!!" Shouted Lucy, angrily.
"Sounds like Lucy's in a bad mood..." Gray whispered to Laxus.
"I think all pregnant woman get annoyed easily..." Laxus replied, laughing.
"I HEARD THAT!" Lucy yelled.
"What's your problem popsicle!? Trying to annoy my wife?!" Natsu shouted.
Zeref, Jellal and Gajeel rolled their eyes. Mavis and Wendy giggled while Mira had hearts in her eyes - her "ships" were working.
"No idiot! I was just stating the obvious. And if you had brains you would know that! Oh wait a minute...I forgot. You don't have brains!!!" Gray retorted, smirking.
"What did you say!?" Yelled natsu.
"I think you heard what I said firehead!" Gray replied.
"SHUT UP! If EITHER if you had brains, you would've noticed by now that we are approaching a village!" Erza shouted.
Everyone looked ahead, and Erza was right. A small village could be seen - huts and people moving around.
"Yes!!!!! Foooooddd!!!!!" Natsu and happy day dreamed.
There were shouts of joy and relief as all the fairy tail members rushed towards the village.
