"Ready to go niña?" Lin said as he helped me put my backpack on.

"Yep!" I smiled, like a little kid on the first day of school.

"Thanks, Pippa." I said hugging her softly.

"No problem, sweetie, I'll see you tomorrow at the theatre." She waved.

"Thanks, Pippa!" Lin called back, and we walked to the elevator. Phillipa closed the door behind us and we were left in the lobby.

"Did you have fun?" He asked as I punched the 'Lobby' button on the elevator.

"Yeah, lots!" I smiled.

"Good, like what fun?" He put his arm around me as the elevator descended.

"Well, we first went to Ellen's Stardust Diner, which was a lot of fun," I giggled. "Then we crashed on the coach with tons of junk food and watched Mean Girls."

"Typical, Pip." in said as he guided me out of the elevator.

We walked out onto the streets and chatted until we reached his own building. Got into the elevator and into the house.

I was greeted by Sebastian who hugged me around me shins.

"Hey Seb! How was Abuela and Abuelo's house?" I ask him, ruffling his dirty brown hair. Being the two year old that he is, he completely ignored the question, and went back to his trains. I let a laugh escape my lips and went to go hug Vanessa.

"How was Pippa's house?" She asked pulling away from the hug.

"Fun! We went out for dinner, and watched a movie, how was your anniversary?"

"It was good, a nice calm dinner and took a walk downtown. Thank you so much for the gifts! You didn't have to do that." Vanessa smiled, gesturing her hand towards the kitchen table, which sat her mug, and the Aaron Burr; a Biography which was almost half way done.

"No problem! I'm glad you had fun, now if you don't mind, I'm going to take a shower."

I grabbed my bag, dropped it in my room on my bed and went to the bathroom off of the guest room (otherwise known as my room now.). I started the shower looking to see if I had all the products. My eyes widened as I saw unopened, expensive bottles. Vanessa could've bought them for herself, right? That question did not help, there were doubles of those bottles, which where open. So they had to be for me. I could've always used less expensive ones, it didn't matter. But the fact that they thought about me while shopping, was a great shock to me. I sighed as I turned on the water and grabbed towels. Soon enough the water was warm, and I stripped myself and got in.

I began with dousing myself in the warm water and let my thoughts take over.

Why were Lin and Vanessa so keen on keeping me? What did they see in me that they enjoyed? I was just an average girl who liked theatre, nothing special there. Why did they even buy me clothes, let alone all the expensive ones? They had better things to spend their money on, right? Or was it just because they pitied me? Plenty of kids from come abusive homes, why choose me? My hairs seemed wet enough so I grabbed the unopened bottle of Nexxus and gave it a look of pity. Did I really deserve it? I didn't think so. I got out of the shower, and quickly dried myself off, while walking to the cupboard. Opening it up, I saw the tiny bottles of conditioner and shampoo from hotels standing side by side. Grabbed one bottle of shampoo and conditioner and random soap and rushed back into the shower. My cold body was then reimbursed in the hot water, which brought back my thoughts. What about the dreams? Were Lin and Vanessa really going to be the same people as my parents? I didn't think so, but then again, you never do know.

I opened the bottle of cheapie shampoo which I was satisfied with, dumped some on my hand and washed my hair. After a couple minutes, I was done and happy. Happy that I wasn't a big drain of money them. I put that bottle down, and picked up the bottle of conditioner.

The shower was soon over, and I felt nice and refreshed, without $60 bottles of shampoo and conditioner as my secret ingredient. I went to my room and put on some casual clothes consisting of a Nike jacket, faded blue jeans and a simple grey top. My feet were socked and cosy.

I walked into the kitchen (which was set to a candle light mood )and Lin popped out of nowhere

I walked into the kitchen (which was set to a candle light mood )and Lin popped out of nowhere.

"Señorita! Join us with our beautiful homemade dinner, consisting of classic gazpacho," I followed his hand to Vanessa who was holding a pot of the soup. "And valencian savory epanadas." He rose his eyebrows and looked over at little Sebastian who was clapping his hands and giggling. My lips parted into a smile and I ran to sit down and enjoy the dinner.
