After waking up rather slowly to some horrible song on the radio, I looked out of my window. The view was breath taking. Manhattan didn't get all the hype it deserved— sure it wasn't in New York City, but it looked exactly the same. The tall buildings, small hipster record stores. Thrift shops almost every corner. I've only seen one thing on broadway since Vanessa and Lin has taken me in, I'm not complaining but broadway is so much more magical than you think it is. A knock on the door startles me. The door soon opens, revealing Lin and Tobi.

"Good morning, niña." He smiled.

"Morning, Lin." I said yawning (ok but i actually yawned when i wrote that wtf).

"I'm taking Tobi for a walk, wanna come?" He said petting Tobi's scruffy fur.

"Sure, lemme go get dressed, I'll be out in five?" I suggested.

"Alright, dress warmly, its still December."

I nodded my head and closed the door going straight to my closet to pick out my clothes for the day. I slid into my floral embroiled mom jeans, which were definitely one of my favourite pieces of clothing— Jasmine got me that. Then I pulled on my yellow sunrise top from aeropostal. After that I put on my pink sweatshirt with a rose on it. I then walking into the bathroom to brush my teeth and hair. I soon met Lin in the hallway where I put on my coat, boots and tuque.

"So, I heard that there was this really cool Japanese cafe down the street, maybe we could check it out?"

"Sure, that sounds cool." I smiled.

"Alright! Let's go, c'mon Tobi." He said pulling her lease towards the door. I smile petting the dog then closing the door behind us. We got into the elevator with an old couple while Lin and them conversed. We soon got out and made it onto the streets. The weather was freezing and we could see our breath being crystallized right in front of us. We soon made it to the small cafe which I learned that its name was Utsukushī Cafe— which meant lovely. I opened the door the bells jingling in response and I saw two workers behind the counter with some tea and coffee machines. There was also a display window for pastries.

We waited in line for sometime before Lin stepped up to the counter to order.

"Two medium green teas please, and two taiyaki, thank you."

I pulled out a twenty dollar bill from my pocket and handed it to the worker who's name was Risako. She almost took it but Lin gently pushed my hand down as he handed her the money.

"My treat." He smiled.

"It's always your treat, let me do something for you!" I protested.

"Fine! When we get home, you go live on periscope." He said smirking.

"Alright, lets try these pastries and then we can go back home."

I took my pastry out from the bag— it was shaped like a fish. I took a bite and some brown thick mixture filled my mouth. I opened my eyes wide swallowing the amazing food.

"This is amazing!" I said pointing to the fish.

"Wait! Lemme take a picture of you holding the fish!" said Lin as he pulled out his phone.

I posed for the photo and he snapped it quickly posting it to Twitter. My phone soon buzzed and I checked the notification:

Our youngster here is trying some taiyaki— she says its good! Get out of your comfort zone today and try something new!

Lin soon tried the treat which he declared good and of course had to update Twitter. With the tea in our hands we headed outside to walk Tobi back home.

"Hmmm, are you ready to go live on Twitter?" asked Lin and he crossed the road.

"Sort of, kind of afraid though, what if people don't like me?" I worried, tightened my grip on Tobi's leash,

"I'm sure they'll love you, what's not to like?" He smiled squeezing my hand.

There were plenty of things not to like about me, but I pushed them out of my thoughts, the stream was just for fun and I needed to forget about my anxiety for 15 minutes at least.
