Glass shattered against the wall right as lightning struck the earth around us. My voice pierces the air with deafening misery. In my surroundings I spotted another glass vase and chucked it back through the air. It smashed against the brick wall where the other one left off too. I was standing in her kitchen, where she lived, cooked and slept, I was here and she wasn't. My anger scattered the old mail from her counter tops and smashed the pans that were left on the stove. One bowl had chopped lettuce in it, just as she left it. A clock radio was playing when we arrived but I had already ripped the cord from its wall socket.

It was easy to retrace her steps, starting at the underground car park where her SUV smashed through the lower level gate in the first place. From there Niall found the only apartment left under a fake name. Isabella Lexi, what I recognized to be her adoptive mother's first and middle name.

The door was unlocked when we arrived. There was no sign of the police near the complexes anymore. If she was on the run from them, they never found her apartment.

Both Louis and Niall had their guns up but I came in blindly, realizing we were all too late no matter what. To our surprise the apartment was already left in a mess, I'm just making it worse. All the evidence of her existence in this tiny flat was trashed. Ripped to shreds, alcohol spilled over Niall's old technology or burned. She was obviously out in a hurry but someone else took their time here in the flat. Perhaps it was Liam, either way he was gone too.

I spotted my reflection in the microwave. My hair was all in my face as I stayed still for once. Seeing the exhaustion in my eyes was not enough. I almost felt guilty for coming back here; backtracking when she was just out there, alone, and now missing. She was right under my nose and I missed her by a second.

I growled in frustration, smacking my palm heavily onto the microwave. The buttons beeped and I hit it again before the light inside turned on. I smack it again, flicking my head forward aggressively.

"Harry, that's enough!"

I hadn't noticed Louis standing near the hall. I turned with all my hair in my eyes, my lips parted into a heavy pout before I looked away with even more quilt. I heard him walk towards me, his shoes crunching over top of the glass I dropped below. His shadow hovered behind me, casting to the brick wall out in front.

"The last thing you want is to bring more attention to us." He mentioned quietly and I sighed. He got closer to my back and I pulled away, turning to look over my shoulder. "If the police came here looking for her, they never made it past the front door. Which means that someone was covering for her."

"Where's Niall?" I question him, completely avoiding the rest of the conversation. I already expected that, it had to be Liam.

I turn around completely and toss up my long hair from my eyes.

"Hey boys!" Sure enough it was Niall calling back from down the hall. Louis turns before looking back at me curiously. I shove him aside and hold my hand to the butt end of my gun, not expecting anything.

I hadn't been down the rest of the apartment yet. The hallway lights were flickering. One bulb was missing from the first overhead light and buzzing dangerously with free electricity. I walked along slowly, spotting the first bedroom door open and Niall's flashlight waving through a pile of fallen boxes and filing cabinets. My boots squeaked over the floorboards and Niall flinched, waving his light up into my eyes.
