AU : Craig is a free surfer living in Cali. He doesn't compete in competitions but does it for fun. Tyler, on the other hand, participates in competitions and is a well known surfer.

For Craig, it was bliss.

The cool spray of the ocean water hitting your skin like a hose, gripping the board tightly as he was sideways riding the wave....

The satisfying sight of the trail behind his orange and blue board was amazing the way the sun reflected off it.

Craig reached out his hand and touched the wall of sea to his left. The way the water moved up and around his fingers was mesmerizing.

Yeah. Craig loved being a free surfer.

No stressing out about competitions, winning or trophies. The big ocean was a trophy itself, Craig believed.

The Brit would practically eat, sleep, and live surfing. It was the excitement that got Craig's attention..

The wave was started to come close to shore and Craig started to even out on the water. As soon as he came close enough to shore, he slipped off the board and let his toes sink into the sand, water hitting his ankles.

The sun was burning at his exposed back, and Craig was glad Brian practically forced him to wear two layers of water proof sunscreen.

"Because one layer isn't enough. It'll wash off."

"Ok, ok, mom."

The brunet gave a smile and picked up his board, about to go another round before a life guard ran up to him.

"Sir! The beach is closed." He said. Craig stopped mid step and raised a hand to rub at his eyes. The contacts he had in were supposed to not bother him, but his glasses store lady did tell him the salt was going to irritate it. Which it wasn't supposed to do.

Craig lowered his hand and  clutched the board to his chest. "Why is it closed?" He asked. But the Brit had a hunch about what it was.

"Surfing tournament."

Craig almost groaned out loud, but dug his toes into the wet sand instead. It wasn't nice but he couldn't help if he was agitated that his heaven was shut down for a freaking tournament.

"Ah, thank you, sir."

"You have nice surfing skills, by the way. May I ask..why didn't you sign up?"

Craig had a mind to take his board and walk off, but kept his feet planted in his spot, the water hitting the back of his feet. Wasn't this lifeguard working?

"Wells! Get your booty up here and watch the stands!!" A voice came through a megaphone and the guard was off, leaving Craig alone once again.

He then slumped his shoulders and dragged the board in the sand to his stuff, leaving a long line. His phone was ringing when he finally reached it, and he pressed answer, not bothering to look to know who it is.
