Chapter 31: Pizza

(A/N: I lost a follower but that's ok. I guess my story is rolling downhill. Should I wrap it up? I don't know)

Riley hugs Maya, "Thanks for the ring."

The blonde can tell she's forcing a smile. Riley doesn't like Nathan, he tried to get at her when she visited for a weekend.

"What'd she get you?" Lucas asks and Riley shows him the refitted ring from their childhood.

"Do you like it more than Farkle's?" Lucas asks in a teasing tone and Riley rolls her eyes, "Shut up."

Riley takes the package with the pregnancy test inside, and shoves it into the trash can.

Luckily for the girls, Zay and Smackle knock on the door.

Smackle smiles as soon as she sees her friends. "You guys should have been at the diner we were at!" She exclaims.

Zay chuckles, "Some idiot threw something at the waitress and she totally ate it. It was so funny."

Maya and Lucas exchange a glance and laugh. She feels her phone vibrate in her pocket and excuses herself from their conversation.

Maya sees that it's Nathan and she answers.

"Maya, I'm so sorry." She hears him whimper, causing her stomach to churn.

"W...what's wrong?" She asks and he sniffles.

"I...know you're busy. But I just found out I got some other woman pregnant." He tells her and she freezes, dropping her phone with shock.

She feels the tears threaten to spill and looks over at her friends. Then she tries to hide her face as she picks up the phone again and hangs up on Nathan.

By the time she does that, all her friends are already huddling around her curiously.

"What's wrong?" Zay asks

She takes a deep breath. Don't be stressed. You can't have another abortion.

"Nathan got another woman pregnant." She tells them and Rileys jaw drops, "But you are...." she was going to say pregnant too, but saves herself, "his girlfriend. How could he do this to you!?"

"I knew he'd see other girls, like flirt with them and maybe sneak a kiss behind my back.... but not this." She says softly.

"Why'd you stay with him if you knew he was cheating on you!?" Lucas asks and Maya erupts into full blown tears, "I don't know!"

Riley holds Maya's hand tightly, "Back off, Lucas."

Lucas furrows his brows, and then looks over at Smackle who is currently digging through the trash too. "I knew it." She whispers, and they all look at her too.

"Maya's pregnant too."

After Lucas has stormed out, with Zay and Smackle chasing after him, Maya makes her way into the backyard.

She takes her shoes and socks off and dips her feet into the pool water.

"If it means anything, I think that it's great you're having a child, regardless of the circumstances." Farkle says, sitting next to her.

She snorts, "I made a mistake the first time I was pregnant..." She tells him, "Nathan has no clue though. And Lucas, well I don't know why he's so mad, but he'd probably never forgive me."

"I think we both know why he's upset." Farkle replies gently.

"Because I'm keeping Nathan's baby, and I didn't keep his?"

"No." Farkle says looking at her sympathetically, "Because he cares so much about you, and you chose the guy that treats you like trash over him."

"Yeah. I made a mistake, but he wouldn't talk to me!" She defends and he sighs, "Because he thought he'd accidentally hurt you. And he loves you so much that he wouldn't allow himself to be near you."

"So I'm the bad guy now?" She asks and Farkle rolls his eyes, "Well you aren't a victim... you guys just didn't communicate with one another, and that's why your relationship failed."

Maya watches as a cool breeze shakes the trees in the yard, sending a few leaves to float upon the water.

She lets out a deep breath and tilts her head back, with her eyes closed. "We were supposed to be soulmates, Lucas and I." She tells Farkle, who smiles, letting her continue.

"I already had our wedding planned as a young girl.  Riley would be standing next to me with Isadora. And Zay would be standing next to him, alongside you. Mr. Matthews would hand me over to him, since my dad sucked. And my brother would be watching proudly in the front row."

Farkle looks over at the blonde, surprised at how relaxed she is. "It'd be at the park in New York, our wedding. And it'd be the perfect weather outside, cold, but not cold enough to the point where you'd need a jacket. I'd be wearing a white Cinderella dress, and my bridesmaids would be wearing red. Lucas would look sexy in his red tie and tuxedo. And we'd have awesome sex after." She giggles at the last part.

Farkle gets up, and she looks up at him, and gets up as well.

"What about with Nathan? Did you ever see yourself getting married to him?" He asks curiously and she looks over at Riley who is probably on the phone with Smackle.

"Yeah. A small wedding, when we both were full of hope. But then his temper changed, and like Lucas, I stopped thinking that I'd get married." She says honestly.

He nods, understanding why she'd think the way she does.

"Hey, when you marry your gorgeous girlfriend, make sure you take good care of her, okay? She's very important to me, and if you harm her, I'll kill you." Maya tells him in a strict tone.

He smiles and hugs Maya tightly, "I will...I've missed you."

"I've missed you too." She says sadly and they both decide to make their way back inside.

"I ordered pizza." Riley announces.
