Chapter10 Meeting the snake

Kyoto'sPOV

Next morning

(6days until the chunnin exams)

After walking through the dark forest for hours,mom and I decided to stop and rest."Its morning."She pointed out pointing her index finger at the rising sun."How long has it been?"I asked suddenly giving her a stern look.She looked back with confusion and I internally growled deciding to ask the question I've been keeping my self from asking."How long has it been since you escaped the leaf."

She sighed with a hint of irritation."I already told you Kyoto.And I couldn't get you back then because I wasn't strong enough.....But now."Mom took her long red hair and flipped it over her shoulder revealing a snake bite.My eyes widened with worry but then narrowed."So what?A snake bit you,you lived."I grumbled grudgingly."You have no idea what this is do you?"

Scratching my head I looked away not caring much for the old wound."This is the curse mark!"She stated impatiently.Thinking back to my early years of vague research I remembered that only the Hyuga clan's second branch bore a curse mark.I narrowed my eyes having second thoughts about this woman."I thought you were an Uzumaki?"

She rolled her eyes as if I didn't understand something simple."Not the Hyuga curse mark,Orochi-maru's mutated curse mark."

"Who is Orochi-maru?"I asked and as if it were funny a sinister voice erupted from the shadows laughing maniacly.Glaring at her to see her roll her eyes I looked over to the dark figure standing in the darkness.Whatever it was its eyes were golden and feline,no,,,,snake like."Well done Akira.Your son will be an interesting addition to my collection."The figure said in a serpentine voice stepping into the light.His skin was a paper white and his hair was sleek and black reaching his mid back.The stranger's clothes resembled my mom's,both being simple sound clothes and a purple rope secured around their waists.

"Who is he?"I asked quietly taking a step back.Mom scratched her head sheepishly while the strange man looked me over."This is my partner.Orochimaru."She answered gesturing towards him.

"I don't trust him."I stated cautiously holding a kuni between us.Mom made a move to take the knife but I jumped back looking between the two."Having second thoughts?"Orochimaru quizzed amused by my behavior.

"Its Okay to have them,just listen to your heart."Mom suggested and my muscles untense."Before we go on Ill need to test him."The snake stated getting a glare from mom."Ill be testing him."She shot back and he chuckled."Of course."

My muscles tensed once more."What is this?"I demanded as mom turned towards me."Fight me for your life.If you live your one step closer to vengeance...."

"But if I die?"I asked hearing the snake laugh in delight."You won't now fight!!"She ordered and dashed at me.Her speed was incredible and before I could react she was behind me.A punch sent me flying into a tree and I scrambled to my feat weaving handsigns.

"Fire style:Fire!"A wave of blazing fire rushed at her and she put both hands out infront of her.A powerful gust of wind fraught against my fire and overwhelmed it.I jumped to the side dodging a sharp slash of wind.

In seconds mom was at me again but I drew a kuni and clashed it with her arm.She overpowered me and threw me back revealing a sleek black katana."Here I come!"

With that she rocketed at me with wind behind her and I was too slow to block.A long gash ran from my shoulder to my hip and it erupted into blood.As I bled my legs gave out letting me lie on my back.A powerful sensation burned in my eyes and everything became clearer before the dark consumed me.
