Timeless

Chapter 9.

Seconds felt like minutes. Minutes felt like hours. Hours felt like days. I haven't eaten anything since dinner from the previous night. I guess I take the blame for forgetting to eat breakfast.

Sometimes, you don't appreciate others until you realize you might not see them again. Regret hit me really hard. Maybe there's something to her past that she was hard for her. That may have caused her to be so cold...

Suddenly a guy runs in. I instantly recognize him from last night, the one Rose was screaming at. He sees us, and collapses to the ground. "Am I... too late?"

"If you're asking about talking to Rose, then yes." Daniel replies.

"Who... are you?" I ask.

He sighs and stands back up. "My name is Chivon. [She-von] Rose... is my past."

So... Rose's ex is here?

"Why are you here if she's your past?"

He sighs. "I made a mistake. Then something went wrong... and now I'm trying to get her back."

"Dude, you can't  just have her when you want to and throw her away when you want too. Your girlfriend is not supposed to be a toy, she is supposed to be your treasure." I don't have a good feeling about this, Chivon guy.

"I know... I know..." He says. Then a surgeon walks out.

"HOW IS SHE???? HOW IS SHE????" Thayer jumps up.

"She made it! She would be able to talk to everyone in a little bit." Everyone cheers. Even Chivon smiled and sighed of relief.

"ROSE!!!!!!!" Thayer runs to Rose. "I THOUGHT YOU WERE GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!"

"Jesus...." Rose says, but smiles. "Wait... did everyone come?"

"No, Just us." I smile. "How are you feeling?"

"Didn't think you'd come." Wow, still nasty as ever. "But, I guess I feel better."

"What happened???" Tris asks.

"Well... I was just driving back to my apartment, and... suddenly, breathing became REALLY hard for me. Then I couldn't move my arms and there was a red light, so I crashed." Then Rose notices Chivon.

"What are you... get out." Rose looks away from us.

"Rose... just give me 5 minutes." Chivon pleads.

"Fine. But my friends are staying."

Did she just call me.... her friend? Woah. I need to process this.

"Rose... I wasn't allowed to talk to you because they had to prevent rumors. So they made me break up with you. I can't let go of this final chance, but... I really didn't want to. And I-"

"You could've just told me the truth!" Rose says.

"And you could've told me about your heart disease!"

Wait what?

"It was because I didn't want you to worry!"

"Alright, Alright. If I'm only talking to you about happy crap, how are we going to deepen our relationship? I'm your boyfriend because we will go through everything TOGETHER. We are a team, not two individual players."
