Wow.
Rose just... sang. And she was actually good. Only if her attitude can be as good as her singing!
After she stepped down from stage, I see guys approach her, but she pushed them away. Well, of course SHE would do that.
But the way she sings... reminds me of someone in that whole war dream of mine. She was an amazing singer, except... she died. But that was just something I made up, right?
Daniel walks over to Rose and Thayer to compliment Rose, and I follow. As we approach them, I hear Rose, "What are you talking about? I grew up in this city." Ugh. She's probably giving Thayer a hard time like she does with everyone.
Thayer notices us. "Hi Thomas and Daniel!" She hugs me. Her hugs feel... so familiar.
"That was so good!" Daniel says.
"Thanks." Rose nods. Wow. What does she have against friendliness?
"Do you two sing?" Thayer asks Daniel and I.
"Not really, but we are both Bassists in the city symphony. First two chairs!" Daniel beams proudly. After loosing my memory a few years ago I immediately learned the Bass. It's such an amazing instrument!
"Really?" Rose looks at us. "I played the cello." She finishes her drink and orders another one. She looks like she's been here before.
"Really? You should join the city's symphony!" Daniel suggests.
"Well, I kinda put all of my music talents behind me." Rose sighs.
"So you're really musical, huh?" I ask.
"What's wrong with that?" Rose gives me a cold look. Gosh, I'm just asking.
"Nothing, just wondering." I say as I roll my eyes.
Rose just looks away, but I can notice the sadness in her eyes.
After the event, I walk up to Rose. "Hey..."
"What." She looks at me in the eye.
I sigh. "If you really miss being a musician, you should try to keep it as a hobby."
Rose stares at me deeply and pauses. "It's not up to you to decide what I can choose as a hobby," Rose turns and walks away.
Geez, is she ever nice!
After Rose leaves, Thayer walks up to me. "Hey... can we talk about somethings in the XXX (again I'm too lazy to make up a name) coffee shop?"
"Well, I guess so," I say. I have a feeling it's about the whole war thing.
After sitting down, Thayer starts the conversation. "So... I just wanna ask. Have you never had thoughts about being in the.... hold on." She pulls out her phone, goes on google, and puts it back down. "The thirty year war."
Alright this is weird... "I had a dream about it..."
"Do you really not remember anyone in it?"
"Well yeah, I remember a few close friends. But I don't remember my friends and acquaintances."
"So... you don't remember having a girlfriend?"
I think really hard. "No, I never had one. Single since birth!" Thayer starts crying again and she leaves the coffee shop. Did I say something on accident that was offending?
The next day at work, I give Rose my revised draft. She looks over it. "Very impressive, Thomas! I think we can share it with the rest of the team and see what they say."
"Wow, finally, a nice thing you have to say about me." I turn and walk out of her office.
"Wait." Rose says behind me.
I turn around. "What?"
"How do you feel towards Thayer?"
Um... random? "She's a good friend," I say.
Rose smirks and turns to her computer. "Okay. Leave now."
I walk out of her office while thinking about why she asked that question. But there is something about Thayer that seems familiar, and heck, she is ATTRACTIVE!!! I guess I could get to know her better.
