And so I lied there on my bed, floating in and out of consciousness in a series of mini-naps, not being able to fall completely asleep, when I glanced to the clock on the wall and realized that the Capture the Flag game would be starting soon. Pushing myself off of the cloud like bed, I struggle to shake off the grogginess of napping and clumsily attempt to get up, ending up ungracefully rolling off the bed and falling on the floor with a thud, my hip not so effectively cushioning my fall.
"UGGHHHH. Ow." I raise up from the floor lightly rubbing my left hip bone, knowing a bruise would begin to form itself in no time. Slightly hunched over and limping I made my way to the dresser and picked out a pair of leggings, T shirt (I would have worn a tank top with how hot it is but the fucking mark would have been on display for everyone. Oh yeah that would have been so much fun, having to explain how a rank two was marked within the first day of the Season), and a pair of running shoes. We weren't supposed to be turning during the game, so I wasn't too worried about my clothes being ripped to shreds. I grab a hair tie and pull it onto my left wrist just in case I'd later want to put my hair up before I exit my room, on a mission to find Audri, Sav, or Alex. Trekking up the stairs, I look around the third floor, sure that they all occupied the next and moved on from the equally luxuriously furnished floor to the most lavish floor I've seen.
The floor was marble just like the entry way, with carpet matching rugs running down the hall, gold plated plaques on each of the pristine white doors display the room numbers and I remember Sav having told me that Audri and her rooms were 103 and 104, so I followed the ascending gold plaques down the hall, peering down a small hallway branching off the main one and wished I hadn't.
Leaning against the wall was a short curvy girl with tanned skin and dark hair, leaning over her was Sav's person of interest, flirting away with him. Before they could notice me there, I quickly rushed past the hall opening and placed my back to the wall on the other side. I felt guilty, like I'd seen something I shouldn't have; but I guess this was par for the course, it wasn't all too unusual to find a guy or girl chatting up multiple possible mates, trying to find the one that fit them best. Should I tell Sav? She might not mind it, knowing her she must have been chatted up by every other guy here at least once, but the only one who she ever hung around long was him. I shouldn't butt in on her personal business...but I don't want to see her hurt...I'll leave it for now, but if I see him like this again, then I'll tell her. I release a deep breath I hadn't known I was holding as I push myself off the wall and find the gold plate of the door adjacent to my hiding place displayed the number 103. Great. I knock on the door lightly, feeling out of place in this hall so obviously meant for the best of the best, which I was not.
Opening the door gracefully, Sav donning a pair of joggers, loose tank top, and fuzzy socks, took in my appearance and smiled, "Hey Jas, come in." She opened the door wider and allowed me to step in and closed the door behind me. Stepping into her room was like as if I was returning to my own as they were exact copies, same bed, same archway to the bathroom, same dresser and wardrobe, same everything. So the differences in floor were only external, huh.
What was different about her room however, was that she had a graceful Audri dramatically draped across her bed where I had no such decoration. I expected the girl to say something however, she only sighed deeply and drew the back of her hand to her forehead with the grace of a old timey actress. Concerned with my friend's behavior I leaned to Sav and whispered "What's up with her?"
Sav whispered back with a shrug "Not sure, she's been like this since she came to my room half an hour ago, she just came in and plopped herself down." Strange, Audri wasn't usually so melodramatic as to keep her mouth shut for more than a few seconds, I wonder what was bothering her.
