After filling out of the dining room with the rest of the wolves, sparking with excitement for tomorrow's ceremony, none of them feeling the same shock trapping me in the sort of auto-pilot state my brain forced me into half way though the Feast to keep me from having a literal meltdown on my goddamned fondue, the knocking at my door disengaged the autopilot and brought me back to my senses. Still dressed up, sitting on my bed, my trance like state now broken, knowing what I knew. I was drowning. The knocking came once again, in a cheesy tune of knock, knock, knock-knock, knock. knock, knock. Each beat against my door pulling me from under the waves of my own anxiety as I stood, taking timid steps that still seemed to resonate through out the room as my heels hit the wood. It felt as if I had crossed an ocean, but I finally made it from my bedside to the door, the numbness of shock keeping the fire in my shoulder from keying me in. Shaky, my hands reach for and find comfort in the cool metal knob, as I slowly twist it and pull the door in a few inches before my eyes reach that quick-sand gaze I oh so needed right now. His smug smirk was at the moment hiding behind a small, reassuring smile. as he simply said "Hi."

Hi?

With a flash of movement I didn't know my sluggish body could comply with, I pulled the door open, reached up and grabbed his collar, pulled him into the room, slammed the door, and pushed him into it, leaning up to his face as my squinted glare pierced through the quick-sand and said under my breath "Hi? That's all you have to say to me?"

Hearing his audible gulp gave my current blood-lust the utmost satisfaction. "I was also going to say that you look gorgeous." His smile widens, even as it quivers slightly, but that little playful tone never wavers, even if held his hands in the air in a most nonthreatening fashion.

I give him a small smile, my grip on his collar tightening slightly, "What a gentleman you are, compliment the lady, woo the lady, make the lady fall in love, all while lying to said lady."

"L-lying? I've never lied to you!" He exclaims, but I've heard this "What? Me? No." tone before and I'm not exactly in the mood for it at the moment.

"Oh really? Well, why don't you remind me when you told me you are a-no the fucking Alpha!"

He gives a small nervous chuckle. "I mean, you never asked." Its at this point that I let go of his poor, abused collar and back away from him, my hands running through my hair as I take it down. I sit on my bed and begin rubbing my temples to try to sooth my frayed nerves. His voice pulls my eyes back to his much more rigid form. "Does it change how you feel about me?" The gravity of his tone and dullness of his eyes lets me know he's no longer in the joking mood either.

I simply shake my head at him and answer without even a hint of hesitation "Of course not." I stand once again after seeing his whole body relax as he exhales, and I walk to his form, still leaning against the door, placing my hand under his chin softly, his eyes snapping open as I pull his attention to me once more. "But-why didn't you tell me?"

"I was going-" He looks away for a moment before his gaze meets mine once more "I was scared." He gives a small breathy chuckle "Ya know, nothing has ever scared me more than you do."

"And rightfully so, I could rip your throat out right now if I wanted to." I whisper to him, pushing his chin up to give me access to his neck and make a fake bite for it. I watch as his Adam's apple bobs down at the sound and give a playful giggle before lightly kissing the previously threatened area, his smooth skin dotted with a bit of uneven stubble causes a very strange yet inciting sensation against my lips. Note to self, do that again. I pull back to look into his eyes and give him a small reassuring smile "I guess that's what love feels like, doesn't it?"

"Love?!" he exclaims, "Oh, but Jasabelle, You've only known me for four days, you don't even know anything about me" he playfully throws my own words back at me.
