The satisfied smirk I got from my perfectly executed plan stays plastered on my face as the front door of the pack house closes behind me, I can still hear the cute yet delirious laughter of the Lady Alpha through the thick walls of the house. I look around the entrance for a bit, wondering where I might find the resident pack doctor and the medical room along with them. My eyes skirt over the two archways on either side of the sweeping staircases, the one to the left leads to the dining room, that lead to the kitchen, but I seriously doubt that would in anyway lead me to the medical room.
I find myself walking through the archway to the left and into the lavish living room, multiple, large extravagant, black couches are scattered through out the room, marble-topped mahogany side tables paired with each couch and some regal looking sitting chairs. The white marble floor extends into this large room as well, merging into the wall for one tile before cutting off into a deep gold color. These guys definitely have some lavish tastes, the pack house looks like it would fill right into something out of The Great Gatsby. The large fireplace to the right wall of the room now takes my attention, several busts line the top of it, some golden wolves, others ivory bears, and at the very edge lays a display of the claws from what is supposed to be Commander Eralton, the great traitor, though I doubt they were real, they wouldn't display something like that in a living room. A claw display would fit more into the décor of a war room or office. I can't linger long though, wouldn't want to stain the floor with my blood.
My eyes skirt across the room and find three white doors, all had golden handles and white trim to separate them from the golden walls. One of them lay close to the fire place while the other two were side by side, bathrooms possibly? I was about to take my chances with the door by the fireplace when my eyes found across the room there was a piece of the wall retracting into a small hallway. I quickly shuffle across the pristine floor, weaving between couches as I make my way to the hall and find that on one of the walls there was a door, I grab the handle and pull it down, but it doesn't move, locked. Okay moving on. My eyes skirt back to the other end of the hall, where a great light shines and I follow it, emerging from the hall to find an open room, floor to celling windows lining the whole wall save for the hall that continued where one of them should have belonged. I spin around a bit, taking in the very white walls compared to the very gold ones of the room I just came from, the pained windows were white as well, with sweeping black curtains to match the black trim of the room. A few golden sitting chairs scattered in pairs or groups of three around the room with little mahogany and marble end tables with them. There was a large arrangement of pictures on the wall opposite the windows, gold framed mirrors scattered among the stately or small pictures of the grounds as well as each pack and some sight seeing shots from around the whole Confederation along with pictures of each generation of Alphas, beginning in black and white and ending with a small picture including Alpha Horn and the other Alphas I learned about in school, including Alpha Turner, the only female alpha to come to power since the Confederation was formed.
She looked to be a stately woman, taking up a large presence in the picture, her dark skin tone making her even more of a noticeable presence. Everything about this woman seemed strong, from her facial features to her toned body and her stance, she even dressed in a power suit romper for the picture, her natural pin curls creating a dark halo around her face and dripping down her shoulders and chest. This woman broke every boundary in the book, surpassing all of her brothers in her training, both mental and physical as well as raise to power as a strong black woman in a community where not only women, but also dark wolves were not completely accepted. Everyone was skeptical of her father taking over after his Alpha died in the first of the Rouge wars, and they were outraged when he chose his daughter to be his successor. With her new title of Alpha she could reject any claim to her, especially since she outranked all of her power hungry suitors each year. Everyone thought she would fail, especially since she chose her unmated, 25 year-old tutor and friend as her beta. They all pegged her to fail, funny thing was, she didn't.
