Audri's eyebrows knit together in the low light of the hall, having two furious people glare at me before stomping off in opposite directions. "What the hell?" her gaze meets mine and my features mimic hers and I give a small shrug. Her arm unlocks from mine as she looks down one end of the hall, where Atlas stomped down, then down the other where Thistle stormed off. She looks back at me with raised eye brows "Some lovers' quarrel eh?" she elbows me a bit jokingly, but her words sends my stomach into my throat. God I hope not. Jesus, if Audri wasn't right in front of me I might have slammed my head into the wall with the prospects of those two-I can't even say it.
"S-sure." I say, desperately trying to get rid of the bile rising up my throat. "Ya know what, I'm not really up for bacon right now."
"WHAT?!" Audri exclaims with a false face of surprise "Is Jasabelle Quinn Grodner actually passing on food? That's a first!"
"Hardy har." I reply in a very deadpanned matter. "Yes, I am. So do you-uh, want to go hang in your room until we have to attend the picnic."
Her eyes light up and she gives a little shriek "FINALLLLYYYY!!" she sings out, grabbing me by the wrist and practically dragging me through the hall and subsequent living room to the stairs in the entryway. "We've barely had anytime to hang out since we got here!" she squeals as she pulls me up two steps at a time, speeding through the treacherous terrain to the third floor, as luxuriously furnished as I remember, and to room 103 which she promptly throws open to find Sav sitting on her bed staring off into space "IT'S GIRL TIME!!" Audri sings into the room, barely catching Sav's attention since she's pretty used to her sister's strange antics by now.
"Sorry to hear that, I thought you didn't start for another week." Sav mumbles back before looking at Audri, dragging me into the room behind her and slamming the door shut.
Audri gives her a little eye roll "Not that kind of 'girl time,' I meant girl time." She says as if the distinction between the two were so obvious.
"Oh." Sav says monotonously "Right, because that make so much more sense."
"I know right. You should really get your shit together, and people say you're the smart one." Audri says plopping down on the bed next to her sister and pulling me next to her. All I see out of Sav is a little eye roll.
"Listen Ri, I understand you always feel the need to bring others into your crazy little world, but some of us have bigger things on our plates then boy-Well bigger things to think about." Her sister breaths out while raking her hands through her tangled blonde hair, her glasses sliding down her nose as she does.
Audri gives a little gasp "I never pull people into Audri Land by force, they come on their own volition because we've got a crazy cool twisty waterslide with a loop in it and all Savannah Land has is a sand pit filled with regrets." Sav's eye starts to twitch and she opens her mouth to reply but Audri holds up a hand to silence her "Any way, we aren't here to talk about mwah, we are here because of Jas' fear of isolation." Sav leans over her sister to give me a look with one eye brow raised, as if to say she's making this up right. I reply to both with a face-palm.
"I thought you said I wouldn't have to worry about that Audri."
"Honey, just because I tell you not to worry doesn't mean you still don't have problems." She replies.
Under my breath, I mutter "yeah, tell me about it."
"You're worried about the ceremony...and not getting chosen?" Sav's hesitation tells me she's not really buying it. "That doesn't sound like you."
"Yes." Audri calls out, dramatically shaking my shoulders. "Our dear Jasabelle is worried about living a lonely life and not being chosen." I give her a small glare, out of my whole speech, that's all you got from it? Some times Audri, sometimes.
