We make it to the Yellowstone boundary line and easily clear the fence. Some warriors stayed behind to cut the fence so on our way back, the other wolves can follow. We made sure there were no cameras but for safe measures, they stayed in their wolf forms and used their teeth.

"Alpha. What are we doing here?" I hear Walter in my head. He presses against my back leg and I can faintly feel him shaking.

"We are freeing these wolves." I respond and hide when we see a ranger walking the trails. When he is long gone we follow the scent trail to the fenced in wolf enclosure. I easily clear the fence and wait for the others to join me.

"Alpha. We can't jump over that. It's too high." Walter responds and I growl annoyed.

"I'll continue in my own. Get this fence down and be ready to herd some sheep." I bark softly at them because I can faintly see a camera out of the corner of my eye.

"No shifting. There are cameras everywhere." I bark again and they all bark back a reply to make it look like we are communicating.

"You sure you'll be ok?" One of the warriors asks.

"I'll be fine." I growl at him and turn. I run off and easily find the freshest trail. I follow it to the den and when I reach the packs resting place I'm attacked from every angle by dozens of wolves. I arc my back and neck and growl viciously at them all.

"Your alpha. Where is he" I snap at the closest one when he tries to bite me.

Another lunges for my neck and I pin him down.

"Here." Another says stepping forward.

"Let him go." I noticed how the others have gotten vicious toward me when I pinned this one. He looks nothing like the alpha yet the pack is threatened when I pin him.

"I've heard of you. The rangers were talking back a midnight black wolf the size of a bear." He says and I release the wolf. He runs over to the alpha and licks his muzzle then sits next to him.

"Yes. I am the alpha of the Blackwood pack. Me and a very small portion of my pack has come to release you." I state sitting and straightening my back so I sit straight up.

"Why would we want to leave. Why would you want to help us?" He asks sitting as well.

"Those basterds tried to chip my mate. I won't let them get away with messing with her. That man that tried is lucky I couldn't get into the emergency tunnel of my den. He'd be in tiny pieces if I could." I growl.

"So this is in smite of what they did?" He asks and I nod.

"We are wolves raised in captivity. We only know what lies inside the fence. We cannot face the outside predators. We aren't strong enough. I won't risk my pack just so you can get revenge." The alpha says and I growl.

"Then I'll fight you for your pack." I stand at my full height and lower my neck barring my teeth in a defensive stance.

"Alpha. The Luna just jumped the fence." I hear Walter yell. I bark loudly and turn to face where I came from. When wolves go to attack the invader I race ahead of them and stand in front of Kat in a defensive and threatening stance. Gold threatens to push through and I growl protectively.

"No. Get back." Kat yells and crawls under me. She rubs the back of her head against my chest and chin and my wolf purrs at the contact.

"Black we have to go. The rangers are coming. They saw the cameras." She says and I growl.

"I will protect your pack." I reason with the alpha.

"You can join our pack and train. When your pack is trained and you want to break off you have free will to. Don't you want to see what it's like outside the chainlink fence." Kat adds and the alpha thinks over it for a bit.

"Think faster. They're in a jeep no farther than 1000 yards away." Kat snaps and the alpha flattens his ears at the pregnant she-wolf.

"Fine." He yells and looks at the pack.

"Grab your pups. We will go with them." He orders. They all scramble to get their pups, the ones without pups help the ones with more than one pup.

"What are you doing here. What if something happens to the pups." I growl sniffing her pudgy belly.

"They're fine Black." She whispers.

"Alpha. I can't find my last pup." I hear a woman yell but no one listens to her. I growl at clutch the alphas neck. I throw him to Kats feet and growl at him.

"Every pack member has a purpose and is important to the pack. Even an omega." I growl.

"Kat will lead you out." I growl and he stands.

"But Black." Kat starts.

"Go." I snap, Gold trying to push through.

"I'll be right behind you." I say and she nods sadly and runs with the pack. I turn back to the mother with three pups under her. I grab all three by their scruffs and place them high up in a tree.

"Stay here." I tell them while nudging them into a hallow.

"Don't make a sound." I whisper and jump down. I sniff the she-wolf's neck and ears catching scent of her scent and all her pups.

"Hide somewhere. Don't let them see you." I say and she shakes her head.

"They'll see me." She whispers.

"They have these things that help them see in the dark." She continues. I grab her scruff and hop up into the same tree.

"Keep them quiet." I say and hop down. I follow the scent trail and see the small pup at a small puddle. I can see the lights of a jeep not far away and I know I won't make it to the pup in time and get out of the way. I try anyways and when I reach the pup the jeep is almost at me. I can hear the tires skidding in mud and throw the pup to the side awaiting impact. It feels like hours before I feel the jeep hit my shoulder. I know the jeep has more damage than I do and I ignore the pain. I don't even stumble from the hit. I was like a tree, rooted to the ground and I didn't move.

I grab the pup and run off. I make it back to the tree and place the pup on the ground. I jump up and bring down mom then hop back up to get the other three pups. I carry the three from the tree and lead the way while the mom carries the fourth.

We make it to the fence and I can't make it through the hole they made. It's for normal wolves. I clear the fence and me and the mother run off. The mother stays close and slightly jumps at every sound. With her adrenaline and fear she is running as fast as me and we easily catch up with the pack. They are following slowly behind Kat since she is running slowly to prevent harm to the pups. My pack surrounds the pack and are still on high alert. We haven't left Yellowstone territory yet.

"Almost there." I yell to my pack. They bark and howl and I quickly bark at them to be quiet. They might as well shoot a flare into the sky.

"Idiots." I mumble with a mouth full of puppy fur.

"But you love us." My pack taunts.

"There is only one person I love and she is the pudgy she wolf at the front of the pack." I snap and I can hear Kat growl.

"I'm not pudgy." She yells.

"Love you babe." I yell back and the pack laughs.

"Mr. Scaredy alpha." Someone jokes and I growl at him.

"Whatever." I mutter. I run ahead of the pack and in a minute I reach the border of the park. I leave the pups with the two pack members I left at the outer most fence and run back to join the pack again. I freeze in the shadows when I see the pack is surrounded by park officials.

"Damn wolves." One mutters and pulls a walkie talkie out.

"We've got the pack from the wolf enclosure here." He says and the thirty men around them aim the tranquilizer guns at them.

"Knock em out. Prepare them for transport. There will be reinforcements to help soon." The man on the other side of the device says and I growl when one aims at Kat.

"Wait." I hear someone say. I know I've been heard.

"He's here." I notice the kid is Gordon.
