Speedy knew exactly where to go. A few minutes later, we were hovering over the Empire State Building. I jumpe doff his back and thanked Speedy. I descended down and punched open the first window. I flew inside and landed inside. Then, I ran straight for the elevator. I took t down all the way back to the lobby and quickly paced to the front desk.

“Excuse me,” I said. “I need to go to Olympus. I have some important information to tell the gods.”

The man there looked at me as if I was crazy and pursed his lips. “Go somewhere else kid. I don’t have time for nonsense right now.”

“I’m serious,” I tried again. “So do you prefer the gods lost against the cyclops? There’s some outside this building, who were probably waiting for me.”

His eyes widened. “You can see them?”

I nodded. “They tried to kill me!” I took deep breaths to calm myself. “I need to see the gods right away.”

He shook his head. “I can't just let any random person who can see through the Mist see the gods.”

     “That’s it.”

I grabbed his shirt and brought out Lightning. I put Lightning’s sword tip to the man’s neck and said, “One, I’m a demigod, and two, If you don’t let me see them right now, I’ll put this sword through your throat. How’s that sound?”

He gulped. “Okay, okay. Just take the elevator to the six-hundredth floor. Here’s the key.”

He handed me the key and pushed back into his seat. I walked back to the elevator and stepped inside. I found the keyhole under all the other buttons and put the key inside. When I had finished, the elevator suddenly began flying upwards.

After a while, it stopped and the doors opened. It was just like before with Hephaestus: t was the same giant mansion. I sprinted as fast as I could for the entrance of the giant mansion.

I pushed the giant door open with all my strength and went in. Inside was twelve giant people, all dressed in armor, sitting in twelve giant chairs. I recognized most of the, since I had delivered weapons to them.

When the one in the middle saw me, his face seemed to brighten. “Jake! How are you, son?”

“Dad?” I said. I shook away the thought of strangling for leaving me mom when I was young and walked up to the middle of the room.

“Hello,” I said. “I’m not really good with introductions, so I’ll just skip to the point. I have been informed that there is a god here helping the cyclops.”

I heard gasps from all around the room. Some began whispering, and others just looked down at me disbelievingly.

“That would make sense,” said one I recognized as Poseidon. “The cyclops have been intercepting our every battle plan. But Athena makes the battle plans, which mean . . .”

“Don’t you dare accuse me!” Athena roared as she stood up. “After all I’ve done, I should be the least suspected. I’ve been with Hera while making my plans, maybe it was her!”

“Excuse me!” Hera yelled as she stood up. “I’ve reporting the plans to Ares, so maybe it was him!”

Ares too stood up yelling. Then he blamed Zeus, who blamed Hephaestus, who blamed Hermes, who blamed Demeter, and so on. Soon, everyone was standing and yelling at each other.

More anger boiled inside me. Out of nowhere, I yelled, “SILENCE!”

They all stood frozen, looking down at the mortal who had ordered an immortal to be quiet.

“Arguing won't solve anything.” I said.

Zeus nodded in agreement as they all sat back down. “My son’s right. We need to find out who did it. Whoever it is, you better fess up. Or else you’ll be in big trouble.”

I saw a strange wave of darkness cross Aphrodite’s eyes, then she was back to normal. I shrugged it off and said, “Do any of you know where Beth is?”

“Beth?” Hermes said with a worried expression. “What happened to my daughter?”

“She’s been captured,” I explained. “A cyclops grabbed her by her feet and then suddenly disappeared.”

“Since when could they do that?” Apollo asked.

Poseidon closed his eyes. When he opened them, he frowned and said, “She’s being held captive in an underwater fortress.”

“Can't you get her, or something?” I asked. “You know, being the water god and all.”

He shook his head. “I’m afraid I can't. It’s being protected by another person. And that person is . . . Oceanus!”

All the gods were startled by this.

“But how? I thought I defeated him a few years ago,” Poseidon said. “I’m afraid we might not be able to get her back, Jake.”

“I don't care what you say,” I said. “Can you at least get me somewhere near the fortress? I can handle the rest from there.”

     “But he’s a god.”

“Like I already said, I don't care.” I repeated myself.

He sighed and stood back up. He shrunk back to normal adult’s size and touched placed his hand on my shoulder.

     “Lets go then,” he said.

We both dissolved into water and disappeared.

I heard Apollo’s voice say, “That’s a sweet way to get around.”

When we reformed, we were underwater. Like last time, I could breath.

“This as close as I can get.” Poseidon said. “Just ten feet from us is the force field. It is reflecting the things outside it, but its completely different inside. Just how do you suppose you’ll get in anyway?”

“I was just guessing that if won’t let a god in, it might allow a demigod. I’m not a full god.”

“And if you fail?” he asked.

     I grinned. “Trust me, I won’t.”

He smiled proudly. “You remind so much of Percy. Anyway, you have my blessing. Good luck.”

Then he dissolved in water again and disappeared.

I better not fail, I thought.

I walked nine and a half feet forward and took a deep breath. Here I go. I took one more step and I felt my body tingle a little as I went inside the force field. I sighed out of relativement when I was inside the force field. I was beginning to think it probably wouldn't have worked. My eyes widened as I looked around.

Poseidon was right. It was different from outside. There was a giant brown castle with several mermen swimming around carrying tridents. Weird undersea plants were laid out everywhere without a particular order.

     “Hey guys!” I hollered.

They spotted me and charged. They surrounded me with their tridents pointing at me.

I took out Lightning, amazing them. It didn’t take them long to ignore my sword and focus on how they were going to tear me limb from limb.

“Any last words, mortal?” one of them asked.

“Pretty sure that’s my line,” I said.

     “Kill him!”

“Time for Operation Jake To The Rescue!” I yelled as I charged at the closet mermen.

Sorry for the wait, and the short chapters. The next few chapters might be short as well, but try to enjoy them. XD
