As you walked upstairs you began a small debate with yourself in your mind between having a cup of green tea and watching some Ducktective, or lie down with some music playing softly. You decided to do neither and went out for a walk. You didn't know where either of the twins were at this stage, or where Stan was for that matter, but right now, you didn't really care.Evening was approaching and it started to get a little chilly outside, so you grabbed your jacket, phone and beanie then proceeded to walk outside. As you shut the door, you heard the wind rustling through the tree tops and leaves, it sounded like whispers, but you shrugged it off and moved on.
You walked through town and reminisced in the sights of the buildings that Mabel had shown to you not too long ago. You felt a cold breeze on your back, a nice contrast to the heat emitting from your torso due to your jacket.
Your body was quite flexible in terms of the weather. You could be comfortable in any type of climate, heat, cold, rain, you name it, it wouldn't bother you nor irritate you. Like a chameleon to colour, you would adapt to weather easily.
Back in the lab, Bill was tinkering cautiously, Kisho still rebelling away within the pendant. Bill had planned something for tonight which would carry on to tomorrow morning, so he wanted to get the transfer over with quickly. He feared that the new, stronger pendant wouldn't be completed in time. His fear became rational as he heard you open the door to the shack and yawn as you walked in.
He too, was growing tired, somehow, and his eyelids began drooping a bit. He yawned aswell and nearly messed up the process of making the pendant, which would have caused him to start it all over again from scratch.
To Bill's surprise you were downstairs again in no time. You sat on the bench, clear out of his way, and stretched your arms.
"Hey, Bill?"
"Yeah?"
"Do demons like you get sleepy like us humans."
"Well that's kind of a tricky question if you don't know the full extent of demons and their ins and outs." He put down what he was working with for a moment and placed his gloves back on his hands after promptly wiping sweat from his brow.
"Sometimes we can be physically tired when possessing a certain body type, or when feeling a certain, strong emotion. But it all depends."
"Hm." It seemed like you were staring at the wall, but you weren't actually looking at anything. You were far too tired to make sense of a lot of what was happening. But your worn out brain semi understood what Bill had just explained to you.
"Are you tired right now, Bill?" He looked at you and smiled at your almost drunk-like behaviour.
"Yeah, I guess I am. I wonder how long it's been since I've actually slept."
You were swinging your legs back and forth underneath the table, entertaining yourself without realising it.
"I could really do with some sleep." You yawned as you felt your eyelids drop a little lower by the second.
"Uh, just give me a second okay?"
Bill pulled out the old pendant from underneath his shirt and placed it carefully on the bench. Then he made a little box appear. He began to open it when you interrupted.
"What's that?" You pointed to the box.
"This is a very sacred container passed down for millennia. It can withstand anything and anything left inside of it cannot escape."
He carefully placed the old pendant inside the box. Your eyes following his every move. He closed the box and clapped his hands together.
"Now." He turned to face you, your eyes getting lost in his singular one showing. So lost, in fact, you could barely pay attention to what he was saying.
"I'd like to request that you don't ever touch this box, do you understand?" His sincere eye made you feel like you were being pulled closer to him. So you didn't go against the feeling.
You tiredly leaned in for a kiss and he accepted it. He smiled gleefully.
"Come on." He put his arm around your back. "It's time for you to get some sleep."
As you two were walking up the stairs he snapped his fingers and the box disappeared.
You were sitting on the couch together, your head leaning on his shoulder when you became curious.
"What makes that material so strong anyway."
"Well, it's the only material known to have atoms with four electrons in the first shell and ten in the outer shell."
"Hm, I thought that wasn't possible."
"Anything's possible with me darling."
You slowly started drifting to sleep and were soon deep asleep. Bill picked you up carefully and carried you up to the twins' room. He knew that Dipper would still be awake, analysing the journals most likely, while Mabel would also be fast asleep, but he discarded the thoughts.
Bill opened the door and Dipper's eyes instantly shot up from the journal the see him walking into the room. Bill gently laid you down on your make-shift, yet surprisingly comfortable, bed on the floor. Dipper didn't want to shout in case he woke Mabel up, but he really felt like doing it. Bill stood up straight and turned to meet Dipper's eyes.
Bill put his index finger softly to his lips in a "shushing" motion and nodded his head slightly. And with that, vanished in a small swirl of smoke. Dipper was still wildly confused about what just happened, but he somehow decided to sleep on it rather than waking you up to question you. It was a long, restless sleep for Dipper that night, but in contrast, you had a wonderful, restful sleep.
