prologue

xiomara's p.o.v:

"wake up xio," i heard my mother say. i hummed in response. "you have a meeting today, get the hell up," this time i decided to wake up. if i didn't i would be pushed off my bed.

"i'm up," i said quietly. i'm not really the loud type unless i'm in the mood to do so. i went to my closet and grabbed a jacket with some joggers and changed. i'm not into dressing up nicely as well.

"i'm here bro," mika yells while slamming the door behind her. mika's my bestfriend ever since 6th grade. now we're 25 and 26, so long right?

"aren't you suppose to be in bed right now? you wake up like at 12pm," i questioned her because it's true. she does wake up at 12, i have to yell at her to wake up. although, waking her up is such a struggle.

"yes but my dumbass brother wouldn't leave me alone," she sighed. mika has an older brother who's 8 years older than her.

"well shutup and lets go to the meeting," i said while putting my hair in a ponytail.

"we have a meeting?" i nodded.

"and you're going like that?" i turned around and looked at her.

"why? you gots a problem bro?"

"no, but i just want you to know that you're stupid," i just rolled my eyes at her. yes me and her call each other bro, i don't know why but we do.

"still should've named our company bang bang!" mika shouted out of nowhere.

"oh shutup, that's a stupid ass name," i responded with a laugh. yes we argued about our company's name. mika is so childish.

after i got ready, i got out the house then went inside my audi and mika went inside her mustang. we drove off to our company named kosta. yes we have a company of our own, and we're very proud of what we accomplished. our company is all about food since we love food very much. we deliver food from place to place. we arrived at our company in 20 minutes.

"good morning ms.camua and ms.badwal," says the guards. we responded back with a good morning. all of our employers waved hi to us and we did the same. mika and i went to our own offices and started working on unfinished work.

"ms.camua, your meeting is starting," my secretary nancy says while opening my door. i nodded and decided to get ready for the meeting.

i walked to the meeting and sat down. mika walked in and also sat down. the meeting was finished, it was actually pretty interesting. we talked about what type of food will be chosen to be sent. as soon as the meeting ended, i got a call.

"hello, who's this?" i question.

"is this ms.camua?" the deep voice asked. it sounded like a man, i hummed in response.

"ms.camua i just want to inform you that this is dr.don and your mother fainted, she was rushed to the childrens hospital. it was the closest hospital, please come," i looked shocked. my mom never fainted before. i hummed again in response then said goodbye and hung up.

"hey bi- what's wrong?" mika asked as soon as she burged into my office. she knows when something is wrong.

"my mom fainted mika," i whispered. why did i whisper? i have no idea. she nodded and we walked out the company. everyone was staring at me but i didn't like the attention so i nodded at everyone letting them know i'm fine. they went back to their work.

we drove to the children's hospital and asked for my mom. my workers came as well but i dismissed them since they didn't need to attack anyone. it was a children's hospital after all. i didn't want any children being harm.

a nurse told me the direction to my mom's room and i followed her directions. i walked in to see my mom laying down, i was suprised. mika was behind me and we stood there frozen. mika was as shocked as i was.
