I swing my front door open, slamming it shut once I walk in.
Salty, warm tears are still coming down like a waterfall. It hurt even more when I was driving, because I realized that
I love him. Even though he ripped my heart out of my chest and proceeded to stomp it into dust, I still love him. I keep replaying the scene in my head. Over and over and over again, and every time fresh new tears stream down my cheek.
The girl's straight, sleek, dirty blonde hair and dark green eyes, run through my thoughts.
I race down to the basement, where I know the girls are having a movie night. I get downstairs and throw myself onto their laps and sob, in such a manner that I sound like a dying walrus, but I don't care, I just want to cry. So I do.
They bombard me with questions, but I don't answer, I'm too busy crying my heart out.
30 minutes later
The sobs have died down a tad, but tears are still running down my face. The girl's movie is paused and they're all looking down at me expectantly.
I sniffle and sit up.
"Sophia what happened?" Maddie asks soothingly.
"I got to the cliff, Jake had set up this amazing picnic table, but I saw him kissing another girl." I say in between sniffles. All of three of the girls bombard me with hugs.
"He doesn't deserve you," Ava says sternly.
"He is blind, if he can kiss another girl, while he was supposed to be out on a date with you, because you are beautiful and he doesn't deserve to even look at you," Emma says pulling away from the hug, looking me right in the eyes. My phone starts to ring and Jake's face flashes on the screen. Ava picks it up, angrily.
"Hello," She answers in a sinister voice.
"Oh, I'm truly sorry you've mistaken me for someone who cares." She fires off into the phone.
"Yeah you know the care kinda goes away after you break my best friend's heart and the proceed to call her, to try to explain that you did nothing wrong, when you most certainly did. You broke her. She has opened up to you about her past, about almost everything, and you know what you did to repay her? You broke her. I hope you can live with that." Ava says, tears coming down in angry streams. She hung up the phone and turns towards us.
"That felt good to get off my chest," She chuckles. I nod and pull my knees to my chest.
"I love him," I state and the tears start flowing down my face once more.
"We know," Maddie assures. Jason suddenly runs down the stairs and attacks me into a gigantic hug, lifting me off the couch. I melt into his arms and another sob escapes out of my throat. His arms are wrapped around my waist, mine are around his upper back. Sometimes it seems like we are really distant from each other, but even if we are, nothing can stop us from being there for each other when things are hard.
"Are you okay?" He asks in a whisper, into my ear.
"No," I state my voice hoarse. He hugs me tighter.
"How did you know what happened?" I ask meekly.
"Maddie texted me 'SOS' and said it was about you. I was already in my car, I was almost here when Zach called and told me something bad happened on the date with Sophia. So I thought I would race here and see what happened." He answers pulling away from the hug.
"When I got to the place he was kissing someone else." I whisper. Jason's hazel eyes harden and his nostrils flare.
"And you know what's funny," I chuckle hysterically.
"I realized that I love him, but the funniest part is that I still love him," I say in a high pitched voice. I start laughing hysterically. The tears are gone and my hysterical laughing fills the room. "Can you believe it guys I love him," I laugh looking around the room, at their stunned faces.
"I'm in love with someone who kissed another girl where our date was supposed to be," I laugh again. Jason moves closer to me trying to stop my laughing.
"You know it's really funny guys, because I'm in love with him" tears now slip out of my eyes, while I'm still laughing. The laughs turn into sobs, the sobs turn into screams of frustration.
"I knew this date was a bad idea," I whisper to my self.
"I was worried he would turn out like Alec," I say my voice an octave higher.
"Although Alec called me worthless, then I started to feel worthless, but Jake didn't even have to say anything to make me feel worthless." I admit. I have that feeling like I can't breathe. My chest heaves rapidly, but I can't breathe. All of the memories with Jake flash through my eyes. The smiles, the fun, the laughs. My shoulders start to be shaked and all of the visions are whipped away. My eyes meet Jason's frantic hazel eyes.
"Stop," Jason says shaking my shoulders once more.
"Stop, doing this to yourself; Sophia you are worth something, you are worth more than you will ever know. You shouldn't let Jake make you feel this way, because he is not worth crying over. When he kissed that girl, he lost all of his worth, because you are amazing Sophia, you are way better than any girl because you are my sister." Jason chokes out, pulling me into him. I hear his shakey breath and I immediately know that he is crying too.
"Let's go to the kitchen and get some ice cream," Emma says trying to sound cheerful, but fails miserably. I simply nod into Jason's shoulder. I guess he felt the nod, because he pulls out of the hug and guides me to the kitchen.
Here we are in the kitchen with 4 tubs of ice cream. The only sound is the sounds of the spoons hitting the edges of our bowels. Emma keeps trying to start a conversation, but the rest of us don't even speak a word.
The front door opens, and we all shuffle out of the kitchen to see who it is. Zach and Brady walk in with Jake in tow. Jason stops Jake at the doorway.
To be honest Jason kinda scares me right now. His eyes are glaring daggers at Jake, his eyes are hard. Even his nostrils are flared. Jake tries to move forward, making Jason do something I've never seen him do before.
He punches him right in the nose, pushing him out of the doorway and slamming the door shut.
