DING DONG: BITCH ONE OF FIVE IS DEAD.Millie lazily finished painting her nails the colour of melted cream. She blew on them, meeting Finn's eyes. With a feline-like smile, she winked. Millie was seated on his bed while Finn was at his desk, twirling his pen.
"You're crazy," Finn remarked.
"In love with me," she cheekily replied and added a top coat to her other hand. She exhaled, turning the bottle lid until it closed securely.
"I guess that's about right." Finn turned back to his homework. After a second, he turned around to face her. "You know what happened to Maddie, right?"
"Yeah, her body just casually fell out of the ceiling."
"I guess you can put it that way. How are you so calm?"
"Weakness is weakness, Finn. I never show that, and you know it."
"Also true."
"More than that, I can't care," Millie shrugged, waving her hands to dry her nails. "Maddie was a nuisance. I'm not saying I was going to purposely take her out, but she did more harm than good."
"Like you did?" Finn immediately regretted the words once he said them. Millie froze before coolness iced over her emotions.
"Yes...Like I did."
"Maddie's funeral is in a week."
"Splendid for her," Millie bit out.
"You're not going to go?"
"Why should I?"
"You have a wig. You have everything you need to stay hidden."
"I suppose," Millie vaguely answered.
"Do you know Romeo?"
"Romeo?"
"Romeo Beckham."
"From summer camp? What about him?"
"Did you have a thing with him?" Finn softly asked. Millie slid off of his bed and placed herself onto his desk.
"No. I promise. Can we please do something fun?" Millie questioned, wrapping her arms around Finn's neck.
"In case you haven't noticed, you're kinda dead to the world."
"Mm, touché. What's there to do?"
"Again, you're dead to the world."
"I can think of some fun things to do," Millie suggestively winked. They both started laughing, and Millie leaned back. They both knew she was not a seductress.
"I can sneak you out maybe."
"Really?"
"Yeah, probably."
"You're the best," Millie thanked him, shuffling closer and placing her lips onto his. Finn pulled her towards him and wrapped his arms around her waist.
"I'm glad I have you."
"Me too," Millie smiled.
"I'm worried," Finn suddenly whispered, drawing back from her. He dragged his hand down her thigh, tracing circles on her knees. "M has been silent ever since the Maddie thing."
"It's been three days, Finn. I don't know what you expect from a psychopath," Millie annoyedly replied and clasped his hand to stop his circles. "Sorry, it started to hurt."
