Your Parents Don't Approve Of Him(Colin Kaepernick)-For Dayja

You led Colin up the stairs to your parents house. You stopped when you noticed he stopped walking. "Colin, what are you doing?" "Dayja, what if they don't like me?" he frowned. You grabbed his hands. "They'll love you" you told him. You knocked on the door and within a few minutes, your mom and dad stood there smiling. "Come on in" your mom said. You all went into the kitchen, and sat down at the kitchen table. Your mom served the food to everyone. You held Colin's hand just in case he was still nervous, especially since your dad was looking at him with a look that could kill.

"I see you have some tattoos" your father asked. "Yeah, they're actually bible verses. Well except for the matching ones Dayja and I have." Your mom dropped her fork onto the plate. "You made our daughter get tattoos?" You cursed under your breath. "Mom, they're just small tattoos." "Your body is God's temple, Dayja." And here comes the super Christian mom. "You're just going to let this thug, change you?" Your dad glared at Colin. "Get the hell out of my house" he growled. "He's not going anywhere" you replied.

"This boy has been a terrible influence on you, why haven't you been going to class lately?" your father asked. The room grew quiet. "Dayja, you better answer me." "I don't want to be a doctor, I want to be a dancer" you explained. "Did he put that shit into your mind? You know you can't dance Dayja." "I love dancing, dad. I loved it since I was younger not just since I've been with Colin." "She's a great dancer, Sir" "I don't want to hear you speak, you've been nothing but a terrible influence on our daughter." "Let's go" you told Colin. Both of you got up and as you were walking out you turned around to face your parents. "I love him, and I don't care what either of you say. I'm happy with him." Colin smiled, and  intertwined your fingers with his.
