Ammolite's pov
"So, are you staying with the gems?" Greg asked as he handed me a slice of pizza.
"I don't know, one of the tried to kill me after all." I took a bite of the pizza and stared at it. "I don't think I missed this out of all the foods I haven't eaten."
"You use to love this stuff. We would get it every Friday." he said before taking a bite. "And that's pretty much how Pearl is."
"Hey do you care if I stay with you?" I asked as I took a piece of fish off of my pizza.
"Gee... Ka... Ammolite would but I kinda live in my van... And I don't think people would think that it's ok for someone who looks like their 16 getting in a van with a 46 year old." He looked very sincere when he said that.
"Oh yea," I put my hand to my head, "I forgot about that."
Well, it won't be as hard as what I had to deal with where ever I sleep here. My thought was disturbed by the sound of someone screaming. I quickly shot up and ran out of the restaurant.
There was a woman running from what looked like a giant dark blue and red bird, which I knew to be a corrupted gem.
"Hey pick on some of this," I yelled as I drew my cutlass from my gem, "come on bird brains."
The bird landed in front of me and screeched. I lunged at the corrupted gem.
After a few minutes of fighting the Amethyst wrapped her whip around it's neck. Just before she poofed it, it launched a bunch of blade like feathers at me one of them slightly scratched my leg but caused my jeans to get a knew rip.
"You should peck on someone your own size." the Amythest said as she bubbled the gem. "It's not safe to be out here after dark." She sad as she grabbed my hand and drug me to the house Steven and them were staying in.
"Um..." I said as I was dragged threw the door.
"Don't worry Pearl's not going to hurt you," the mysterious gem said, "she was just there to protect Steven."
I couldn't figure out what kind of gem she was. There weren't any like her on home world. I straightened my posture to seem more confident than I was.
"I never told you who I am, I'm Garnet," she lowered her sunglasses and revealed her three different colored eyes and she winked, "I'm not like other gems."
I wasn't sure what she meant.
"Garnet's, a fusion." Steven said cheerfully.
"Wow," I looked at both of them in surprise, "really that's so cool."
"Well, it's Steven's bed time, you can feel free..." Garnet started, then everything started to go fuzzy and I lost grip on the world.
~flashback/dream~
"You are not going to be practicing that kind of behavior in my house!" My father yelled at me.
"I'm not practicing anything. I'm sorry I fell in love with someone. But you're not happy because it's not someone you like." I went to the door and grabbed the door knob.
"It isn't about who. You chose a fucking girl. Out if every possible guy in this city you chose a girl." He stood up from his chair.
"I didn't choose to love her it just happened. I don't need you to accept it, I'll love her anyway." I said as I slammed the door shut and I ran. I ran until I could force my legs to run any more. I was on the beach and behind me was a weird statue of a lady carved into a cliff.
"Kat, I thought you might run this way." Greg said as he sat next to me. "Your mom stopped by to find you. I'm not going to force you to go back. I just thought you should know."
"Greg... If I fell in love with a girl would you hate me?"
"Kat, it doesn't matter how I feel. Plus, it wouldn't be a surprise. You are going to have to deal with a lot of hate. But you know what, if every pork chop was perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs." He patted my back. "I have to go. Would stay longer, but I do have that test in the morning and my old man said if I get another F he is going to take my guitar again."
"It's fine I'm just going to chill here for a bit. I'll go home after things calm down. Peace out rock star." I laughed before he ran off.
I sat there on the beach for what seemed like hours until some weird thing came from the sky. It looked like a giant yellow hand came down to the ocean just floating there. I heard an explosion as I turned to see what looked like flames coming from where my house was located. I remember seeing a flash of light when I tried to run and feeling someone pick me up. They were to strong for me to break free from. So I started to yell.
As I was telling I managed to see a big woman running toward the scene. She had a long white dress on and long pink curly hair. She yelled something as the door closed.
~end of flashback/dream~
I shot up in a panic. I found myself on that couch again. I found myself crying. I can't go back there.
"Ammolite, are you ok?" Amethyst asked, "Steven wanted to stay up and see you wake up but he couldn't quite make it."
I couldn't help but giggle a little bit. "I can't really say I'm ok. I had a nightmare."
"Do you want to talk about it?" She sat down next to me.
"I was reliving the night I was taken to home world," I started crying even more, "I can't go back there."
"You act like you own the place, that you are tough, and that you don't have a care in the world." She whipped a tear from my cheek. "But I can see that you're hurt. You don't want other people to see that side."
"How do you know so much about what I'm feeling." I was now interested in her.
"I am a late riser from the kindergarden. I am a lot shorter than I'm supposed to be, I am weak, everyone expects me to be like them. I spent decades trying to get Pearl to accept me as me, but all she wants is for me to be some serious gem. But I can't so I act like I don't care." She looked like she would cry herself. "Let's go for a walk so we don't wake Steven."
