Welcome back

Amythest's pov

"Yea, ste-man we did it." I said after we got back to the temple.

"Yea. Smokey quarts was really cool." He seemed slightly upset, but I could tell he didn't want to talk out it so I didn't force him to talk.

"Is everyone back?" Garnet asked suspiciously.

"Yea... And Jasper is bubbled and here." I said as I plopped down onto the couch.

"I've got to do something." She stepped onto the warp pad.

Steven's eyes lit up, "Garnet can I come?"

"Sorry Steven," she said with her kind motherly voice that she always used toward Steven unless he has done something he shouldn't have. "It's too dangerous to bring anyone along. I'll be back before you know it."

She activated the warp pad, then she was gone. She was weirder that normal.

"I'm going to hit the hay, um... I'll see to you guys later."

I stood on the warp pad and waited for my door to open. Then I went inside. I sat down against one of the piles of my stuff and pulled out the pictures Ammolite drew.  I examined the one of the girl.

You really loved her.  I looked at every detail in he girl. She even noted a tiny scar she had on her upper lip. I wish you were still here. I wish you didn't run away from me.

Ammolite's pov

I would guess it's been a few hours since they left. They didn't even check to see if I was here.

I looked up after drawing another picture and I noticed there is a bigger gap than when I first got locked in here. I tried to squeeze threw up I got stuck to where if I tried to move back in or out I would get seriously cut.

"This is just fucking great..." I looked around carefully and it was dark enough to see some stars peaking threw the sky. "Well at least there is a pretty view."

"Need a little help?" Garnet asked kindly as she came into my view, "don't move or you might get cut, and die."

"Like that doesn't make me want to move more." I said as I tried my best to stand still.

Garnet made these gauntlets appear, which I assumed to be her weapon. She slid one of the gauntlets between the bar and my lower thigh. I started to feel uncomfortable when she stated to slid it upwards to bend the metal away from me.

"These blades are sharper than your human shaving ones. They could easily carve you into two of you." She said as she finished bending the metal away from my body. "Really it's dangerous for you to run off on your own here, that's why we don't let Steven leave the beach with out us unless he is going to Connie's."

Once she moved her gauntlet away I stepped back toward the inside of the hole. Then she tore the bars off and carefully set them down  where they wouldn't hurt anyone.

"Why did you decided to run?" She asked me stepping into the hole that was a little short for her, "I don't know which future answer is the truth, so please be honest."

I turned around and walked over to the wall where I drew Amethyst. Garnet followed me to the back of the hole.

"I kissed Amethyst..." I looked down at the rock I drew with, "I shouldn't have, I did it with out her consent. I never asked her how she felt, I don't even know why I liked her so quickly. That never happens except in movies."

"Well," she said calmly as she made me look at her, "love doesn't come as planned. Just look at Ruby and Sapphire. Ruby was assigned to protect Sapphire, even though she wasn't meant to make it out of an attack. But Ruby gave Sapphire a possibility to survive which lead down a completely different path. That day Sapphire learned the future isn't set in stone, it's a bunch of different paths that lead to different possibilities."

"How is that supposes to help?" I felt a tear turn down my face.

"You cant find. Love it finds you." She started to walk out. "You can't run away from it, because if it's meant to be, it will find you again."

She left me alone in the hole. I stayed there and looked at the picture of Amethyst.

"The last time I felt this way was with Hannah, and I lost everything because I ran away." I put my hand on the drawing. "What if she doesn't feel the same?"

I sat down against the wall,  I didn't feel like drawing anymore pictures. I don't know exactly how long I sat there but I realized that my stomach was growling and I hadn't eaten in at least a day. I carefully walked out of the hole and I saw what looked like a path made by the bars that were used to make the holes into cells.

"I guess she knew I didn't know how to get back." I fell about ten feet until I landed on the ground inches away from one of the bars. "That was close."

I carefully followed the bars, as I kept an eye out for any corrupted gems. I felt bad when I saw there were dozens of corrupted gems still in some of the cells. Eventually I got to a warp pad and I paused before stepping on it.

Should I really go back? I want to see  her but why if she does to want to see me?  I kept talking myself into going then immediately talking myself out of it.  I ended up hearing a howl and accidentally sent myself back to the house. I saw Garnet sitting on Steven's bed while he was asleep in her lap. She looked over at me as if she was waiting for me.

I decided to climb up the stairs and I saw pearl was sitting close to a Lapis Lazuli and a Peridot. The Peridot, which I assumed was with them when they were with jasper, even looked like the one from the ship before it crashed. I looked around for Amethyst but she wasn't there. She probably doesn't want to be bothered.  I sat down and looked at the TV. There was some movie about what I think was a samurai on.

"Do you want to stay the night?" Garnet asked looking down at me.

"That would be nice, if I do can I get some food?" Garnet laughed.

"Jasper didn't feed you did she?" Pearl looked at me like she was surprised. "Wow, she left you with out food for three days? Some gems just don't know that if you're going to keep a human  you have to feed them." 

I couldn't help but laugh a little bit.  Then my stomach growled loudly and made Pearl and Garnet giggle. The Peridot shushed them.

"I believe Amethyst left half a pizza on the counter," Pearl said as she stood up and lead me to the kitchen. "Hey I..."

"Is this about the incident from when we met?" She nodded her head. "Don't worry about it... Hey do you care if I go for a walk for a bit?"

"I don't think that's the best idea, but I can't stop you. I'm not in charge of you." She said softly before walking back up to the movie. "I still don't understand how you creatures eat stuff, it is so gross."

I laughed and grabbed the box of pizza and went down to the beach. I looked at the stars.

Should I have just stayed? I wouldn't be dealing with all of this if I stayed. I finished the pizza and set the box next to me.
