Sleepover Part 2 - 10

Jovani's POV (switching it up)

Her eyes seemed as though they would pop out of her head. She then started choking on the popcorn she was snacking on.

I went over to her, worried at the moment, and parted her back trying to stop the coughing fits.

"I don't know why you mean," she said after she recovered.

"I mean, what relationship is going on between you two? Are you guys dating," I said keeping all emotion out of my voice.

"To be honest, I don't know. I thought it was just a short one time meet, but then he invited me to the park, and then he kissed me on the chee-"

"HE KISSED YOU!?" I said shocked, slightly angry and... jealous?

"We-well yeah, but it probably meant nothing."

We were both in a tense and uncomfortable silence for a while. Until I broke it and asked with curiosity,"How did you feel?"

"What," she said confused by my question.

"After the kiss. How did you feel about it."

"I don't know," she said looking embarrassed at the question,"If I'm going to answer that could you not stare at me like that?"

I hadn't realized I was looking at her with such intensity.

"Sorry," I said as I looked down at the ground we were sitting on.

She took a deep breath and said, "I liked it."

My breath then got hitched in my throat.

"Wait...why do you care," she asked.

I couldn't answer that question because I honestly didn't know the answer myself. I needed to find a way to change the subject. I caught sight of the pile of CDs and a smile slowly appeared on my face.

I crawled towards them and asked her, " Frozen or Beauty and the Beast?"

At first she looked confused at my sudden change in mood but the shrugged it off and said, "Beauty and the Beast a classic."

As we watched their from under our fort, I couldn't shake off the statement that kept rattling through my head.

I'm going to lose her.
