Samantha's POV:
Today was the last day of the school year, and Tyler was gone before we even had the chance to celebrate. He has been going to his friend's house every single day after school. The good news though, he finally found a college.
They're interested in him too, they got back to him super fast. I'm proud of him, I was worried that he wouldn't apply in time. This school offers all of the courses that he needs, too.
Tyler <3: I'll be home soon
It was about time he answered me. It's been hours, and it's like three a.m. I've already been on edge this week because of exams, but now he leaves? I can't sleep without him, I worry too much.
Before long he was stumbling through my bedroom door, immediately I knew something was off.
"Why haven't you texted me back?" I demanded. I crossed my arms over my chest after planting myself in front of him.
"I was busy?" It was a question, like he was confused.
"What were you doing?" I asked next. He shrugged in his place and ran his fingers through his hair. His limbs were flopping with every motion and he was not composed like normal.
"Come on, let's just go to bed," he smirked and wrapped his arms around my body. He tried to lean down and kiss me and that's when I found the culprit.
"You're drunk!" I pushed him off. He looked confused, and then hurt.
"A little, I didn't even drink that much," he was slurring. I was livid. Drinking, really? He left me to go out drinking with his friends. Another thought occurred to me that only made my blood boil more.
"And you drove here?" I snapped. He scratched his head absently.
"Tyler!" I pushed his chest. He looked at me and hung his head.
"You could've gotten in an accident!" I pushed him again. I could see something click in his eyes, it scared me. It had a sinister tone, a fire. It reminded me of that night. I froze in my tracks.
"I'm fine! It was fine!" He yelled, taking a step towards me. He has never raised his voice at me. He has never even thought about yelling at me. He's the one that always keeps calm when we argue. It was the alcohol.
I started to have flash backs, this was all too familiar. He had the same look in his eyes that Carson did. Anger. Want. Need.
"T-Tyler?" My hands shook as I wrapped my arms around myself. I looked him in the eyes, the sensation did not fade. I was scared. My insides were filling, drowning.
"What? Why do you always have to jump on my case?" His voice was deep and thick. He took a step closer, shivers rolled down my spine.
"Come on baby."
His voice was ringing in my ears. I slammed my eyes shut and tried to think of something happy. I felt like I had just received a sucker punch to the gut when Tyler rested his hand on my arm.
"D-Don't," I choked. I was trying to calm myself down, but I knew that nothing I did would help.
"I'm sorry that I was drinking," he said softly. He sounded like he was sobering up. I looked him in the eyes, my gentle Tyler was back. I was calmed almost immediately. Of course I was still shaken, but he was here now.
As the first sob rolled out, Tyler pulled me close. I flinched away from him, I couldn't stop myself. I felt sick. Really sick. I could feel it start to lick at the bottom of my throat. I pulled away and dashed to the bathroom and dropped to my knees in front of the toilet. I groaned as I slumped against the wall.
"Are you okay?" Tyler asked looking down at me.
"Fine, just really pregnant," I mumbled as I tried to get to my feet. He helped me and guided me back to my room.
I was mad. I sat down on my bed and quickly put my hair up into a bun. I laid down, turned away from him. I felt him lay next to me, but he didn't touch me. I could tell that he was laying on his back.
We were there for awhile, the time got away from me. Was it a few minutes? A few hours? I wasn't sure. We were just there. Finally in each other's company.
"I'm sorry." His voice made me jump, I wasn't expecting it. I said nothing.
"I was just trying to have fun, and I ended up being irresponsible instead. I'm sorry." I could feel him turn my way now. The fact that he knew that I was still awake was shocking enough.
"I'm going to be a dad soon. I know that I can't keep being away like this- and I know you miss me. I miss you, too." I turned over and looked him in the eyes.
"Listen, how about Wednesday we go out to dinner and then come home and watch movies and snack on everything, can we do that?" He asked, he reached for my hand and I let him take it. I couldn't help but to smile.
"Okay."
