Something's telling me to leave but I won't
'Cause I'm damned if I do ya
Damned if I don't

As I'm making breakfast for Mike and I, I hear my phone ring.

"Mike, can you get me my phone? It's on the table?" I ask and he hums, getting up from the barstool and getting my phone.

"It's Kellin." He says as he hands it to me.

I answer it and put it up to my ear.

"Hey Kells." I say, a little concerned if I might add.

I've been concerned about him ever since I left him last week. He hasn't responded to any of my text messages and I haven't seen him at work either.

"Hi Vic." He sounds sad and nervous.

"What's wrong?" I ask, hoping that he'll answer with nothing and mean it.

"I just need a friend right now." He says and my heart flutters in a way that it never has. That's a better answer than I was hoping.

"I am at your service." I reply.

"Can you come see me?" He asks his voice shaking.

"Yeah, where are you?" I ask.

"H-hospital." He stutters out and my stomach drops.

"Kellin, why? What happ–was it Calvin?" I snap.

He doesn't respond for a while before he squeaks out a 'no'.

"Kellin, don't lie to me." I warn and he sighs sadly.

"He didn't mean to. It was an accident." Kellin murmur.

"Yeah right, exactly how many "accidents" have there been." I ask angrily.

"Can you just come over?" He asks and I sigh.

"Yeah, yeah of course." I say.

He then tells me what room he's in before hanging up.

"I'm going to have to pass up breakfast." I say to Mike as I take the pancakes off of the stove and quickly dish some onto a plate for him.

"Why? Is Kellin okay?" He asks.

"He's in hospital." I mumble, handing him the plate and going to get my keys off the table.

"Shit, what happened?" Mike questions.

"I don't know. I'm going to go find out." I mutter.

I quickly say goodbye to Mike then leave the house and drive down to the hospital. I go up to Kellin's room and knock lightly on the door. I enter when I hear him tell me to come in. I close the door behind me and go over to the bed where he's laying. He has a bandage around his head and a bad bruise on his cheek but he's still smiling.

I sit down in the chair that's next to the bed and take his hand in mine.

"Hey Kells." I smile sadly.

"Who are you?" He asks his eyebrows furrowing in confusion.

Wait, what?

"Kell, its, it's me. Vic. Remember?" I say desperately and he still looks utterly confused. "Oh no."

He then starts laughing out of nowhere.

"I can't believe you fell for that!" He laughs hysterically and it takes me a minute to realise he was joking.

"Oh gosh, don't do that." I whine.
