Too much of anything is too much.

Mike groans from the sofa and I look up from the pot of pasta that I'm stirring.
"You okay, Mike?" I ask concerned, though it's probably nothing and he's probably just complaining about something.
"No, I don't feel so good." He groans.
"What's wrong?" I ask, turning the stove off and taking the pot of pasta over to the sink.
"I have a killer headache and I just feel nauseous." He breathes and he really does sound sick.
I frown as I strain the pasta and then bring it back over to the stove where the sauce is simmering. I pour it into the pot and stir it all together.
"Have you had an ibuprofen?" I ask.
"No." He mumbles.
"Have one, it might make you feel better." I suggest and he then appears next to me.
He reaches up into the medicine cupboard with ease. I always have to get a chair if I want to get something out of there. Curse my shortness.
As I'm watching him get out the medication, I notice how sick he looks. He's sweating and he looks pail. His whole body is trembling. He then goes over to the sink, grabs a glass then fills it up with water from the tap. He washes the ibuprofen down with the water before he goes to put the glass in the sink but the then loses his grip on it. He drops it and it smashes on the tiled floor.
"Oh shit." He mutters, gripping the edge of the counter tightly. "I'm sorry, Vic. I just got really dizzy. I didn't mean to."
As he talks, he sounds distant, as if he's really tired.
"Mike, I think you should go lie down." I suggest and he nods closing his eyes momentarily before he opens them back up and then leaves the room.
Man, I wonder what's wrong with him. If he's not better by tomorrow then I'll take him to the doctors, because lord knows that he won't take himself. I'm the older brother and I have to do everything for him, that's the way it's always been. But I don't mind. He's my little brother and I love him to death, no matter how much he annoys the shit out of me.
As I finish cooking dinner, I let my mind wonder to Kellin. I hope he's okay. Honestly. Calvin left the café in a good mood so I think that he might be okay for tonight. That's how it was with Andy. A good mood would last a few hours, a day if I was lucky. Though his mood could quickly be altered. If I stepped one toe out of line then he'd be pissed off at me, even if it was for the stupidest shit, like if I didn't get dinner on the table by a certain time. Though, I need to keep reminding myself that I can't assume that Calvin's abusive. Just because I was in an abusive relationship doesn't mean Kellin is. But isn't that just an implication that I know the signs and can see an abusive relationship better than anyone because I've had experience. Maybe I'll just have to keep an eye out for more signs.
There's many signs that someone is an abuser and Calvin sure showcased a few yesterday. There's already a few that can be crossed off the list. Jealousy is one. Calvin automatically thought that Kellin was cheating on him just because I was near Kellin. Controlling behavior is another. Calvin told Kellin that he had to tell him when and where he was going. Threats of violence can be checked off the list. He told Kellin, 'I'll give you something to cry about'. That sounds like a threat to me. Force during an argument; him grabbing onto Kellin's arm.
Kellin's also showing a few signs of an abuse victim. There's the bruises and cuts that he excuses as accidents. Then there's the long sleeves he's always wearing. He also always seems to be pulling them down. There's the fact that he seemed genuinely terrified of Calvin when he came in yesterday. Kellin also seemed generally down yesterday, like he was tired and upset. He also had this look in his eyes that practically screamed 'I want to give up'. I know that's how I felt when I was with Andy.
