Kill me already...

History class felt like it dragged on for hours when 25 minutes just passed. Thank God the announcement bell sounded and the headmistress took over.

"Attention all students, this is your headmistress speaking." The whole school seemed to quiet down almost immediately.

"At 2.30pm, you will be dismissed earlier from your current respective classes to have your first club meetings in the designated places in and around school." Murmurs and whispers started but silence came back again.

"There will be several booths around the school for you to find out the places of club meetings. For all new students, please don't hesitate to sign up for a club at any booth if you haven't done it online. Thank you for your attention."

Right after the end of the announcement bell, chatters of excitement started to roll off from everyone's mouth.

I looked at my watch and it showed 2.28pm. With that, everyone ignored the teacher for the 2 minutes. Hey, even I couldn't help but be jittery in my seat.

The bell rang in a different sequence since it wasn't the official time to be dismissed. Everyone packed their bags and rushed out of the classroom quicker than you blink.

Since I made no friends yet in history class, I headed towards a booth across my class for the directions to the dance club. At the booth were two boys who were attending to other students and a girl who looked like she wanted to be anywhere but be on duty. Dressed in a dark band tee and black harem pants paired with combat boots and dark eye-shadow, the image she gave screamed 'Gothic'. Her eyes landed on me and a smile appeared on her face. Okay, I'm wrong about her, I thought as I approached her.

"Welcome to Toppers High again, Haely! I'm Cindy Cerveaux from French class earlier just now," She held out her hand for me to shake.

I shook her hand and gave her a small smile. "Sorry , I didn't notice you there."

"Nah, it's cool." She waved it of like it didn't bother her. "Anyway, how can I help you?"

"May I know where's-" I was suddenly cut off by the sound of someone being slapped. Hard.

"Jerk!" Some girl shouted at the guy in the baseball tee and low-waist jeans. He rubbed his left cheek and turned towards the three of us and was able to afford a proud smirked.

The other guy in the booth didn't look fazed by the situation. I assumed that that is his best buddy. Cindy just shook her head and rolled her eyes at him before turning back to me.

"That would be Bryce Tanner. You could say that he's a player yet still virgin. Don't ask why; he just is." Cindy informed. She must be the straight-forwarded person.

"I heard my name, kitten." Bryce came over with a smug and his left cheek still red from the slap. "And hello there, hottie. Newbie right? I'm Bryce and you are..." He held out his hand for me to shake. Or that's what I wanted to think he'd do.

I felt rather awkward that, 1, he just got slapped by the girl yet he continues his flirting duties on me and 2, did he just called me what I think I heard?!

I nearly shook his hand but was swatted away by the guy in a beanie and a black-rimmed nerd glasses. Hot nerd alert, my thoughts sang what I really do agree for once.

"Ignore him. He's a flirt like that.I'm Fenton Orrel. You must be the new kid the majority talks about," He spoke, showing his pearly whites.

"Why does every person I make friends with say that? But I'm Haely Verner; as in H-A-E-L-Y. Nice to meet you." I held out my hand with a smile.
