Theo's POV

Once Shailene and I had gotten off the elevators, it took us quite some time to find our room. But eventually.. we figured it out.

"Oh, Theo! It's right here!" Shai now beckons to me from up ahead, her figure glowing from the lovely hall lights above and her.

I strut for her door she was pointing at and whip out our room key within my pocket. I cast her a look once I've lodged it into the keyhole.

Hope there's Vodka. I think practically and somehow this thought makes me grin, causing for Shai to eye me for some reason.

I finally then hear the lock click and fling open the door to our new room.

I blink and my jaw goes agape at what I see.

I stiffen.

Our room is gorgeous, with nothing but beautifully furnished sitting chairs and lounge couches. Finely-dark wooden tables and dressers were set along some of the walls, and a leafy carpeting hugged the floor beneath our feet, their tassels shiny and articulate. But this is not what shocked me at all.

In the center of the glamorous room... was nothing but a single king-sized bed.

I hear Shailene catch her breath beside me, as suddenly her happy-sunshine like attitude vanishes off the shape of her face. "Huh?" She snaps.

I pull a hand up and run it along my face and under my chin. I felt very awkward suddenly and very uncomfortable beside her now.

There is only one bed.

"One? One bed?" I state ridiculously, and Shai just drops her luggage to the floor, her eyes huge.

"W-What on earth do they take us for? A-A couple or something?" She questions, and she stammers the most on the word 'couple', her hands flying to her face next.

I can't help but almost want to laugh at her complaint.

Yes. I think rather sourly.

They perhaps did think of us as a couple. Or else they would have never given us a single-bed suite.

"But wait, how could they possibly think we're a couple?" I now retort as I close the door behind us finally, and Shai just exhales loudly at my words. She was completely stressed out.

But we don't even act like a couple? I think horrendously.

Or... do we?

It is then that I somehow slowly start to understand all of this mess. The way me and Shailene acted around each other... perhaps others usually see it as something else?

But she's my best friend! Of course I have a good time around her and laugh with her and just completely enjoy myself around her. She's an amazing being!

Honest to goodness, the thought of sharing a bed with Shailene Woodley didn't really mess with me at all. But I knew she, on the other hand, probably found it more 'unfitting' than I did, so I didn't want to put her in an uncomfortable situation.

"Look, Shai, maybe we can just call the services downstairs and get another room? How hard can it be?" I suggest to her now and somehow I feel a little regretful while saying this.

Surprisingly though, Shai just turns and gives me a shrug. "You know, it's whatever you want to do Theo. I'm tired and right now, I don't really care if whether or not I sleep in my own bed at the moment." She remarks rather sullenly and somehow I am taken aback by her words.
