Shailene's POV
I am jolted awake as I feel someone touch me. My eyes flutter open as they quickly begin to adjust on my surroundings.
A strong hand is on my shoulder but in a gentle manner. I glance my tired eyes to meet the face of my best friend and co-star, Theo James, as he sends me a sarcastically enthralled expression to my awareness.
"Aha! Finally, she's awake." My friend grins at me and I just smile back at him, a yawn wanting to stretch upon my face.
"Hello Theo," I begin and my voice sounds funny from me previously being asleep. "Wait, can I say good morning yet? Or is it still night?" I then ask as I glance to a small window beside my seat.
We are on a flight heading for Honolulu, Hawaii at the moment. The popular Divergent movies that we are filming has sent us on a worldwide tour now with each other, along with premiers and interviews that we needed to attend to just within the following days. It's really going to be hectic within the next two weeks for us.
But I was glad that I got put on tour with Theo all the while. It might be exhausting but it would still be entirely fun with him around.
"Actually, it's around two forty five in the morning." Theo replies to me now and I run a hand through my shoulder-length hair as he shows me his glistening watch upon his wrist.
"Oh, so good, I get to say good morning to you." I briskly chuckle and give him a sarcastically excited look which makes him throw his head back in laughter.
"Yeah, isn't this fun. Having to land around three o' clock in the morning." He mutters in amusement, his thick British accent rolling with his words and I nudge him playfully. Every time he spoke with his accent it would get me for some reason. But I don't know how or why.
"Oh stop, we're going to enjoy this, Theo." I try and brighten the mood and he just sends me a look. "Come on now Shai, you don't mean that." He teases and I laugh. We both knew we would have a fun time together.
Being around Theo was always a pleasure for me. He always knew how to make me laugh.
"No really dude, we're going to have like so much fun on this tour! Come on!" I poke at his broad arm again as my voice squeaks with excitement like it usually does when I get this way.
Theo finally just pats me on the leg next before he crosses his arms. "Yeah, I guess you're right. The fans, the places we'll stay and the sights we'll see... Not to mention the alcohol." His voice rumbles with a chuckle before he glances at me again.
"Actually, we're just about to land in about five minutes really. That's the reason I woke you up for." He explains now and I dart my eyes back to the small window again.
Already I could see tons of little dotted lights flickering upon the dark earth below like fireflies. We were pulling downwards now too, so Theo must be right.
"Nice timing there, man. You were right." I point out as I begin to start for some of my bags below me and Theo just tenses dramatically at my compliment.
I look at him. "What?"
He finally chuckles. "Actually Shai, the flight attendant on the speakers told me when we were going to land exactly... It wasn't a guess, but thank you though." He speaks with playfulness within his tone and I just laugh at this.
"Oh right! Sorry. I was asleep, remember?" I giggle and he continues to just smile before suddenly the pilot's voice begins to speak to us from overhead, as if exactly on que.
"This is your captain speaking, thank you for choosing United Airlines, we are now landing in Honolulu, Hawaii below so do begin to gather your things and within minutes we will be landed, thank you."
Once the announcement is done, Theo suddenly pulls back his armrest that leads to the open isle and gets to his feet, his tall figure looming and his arms going back into a stretch. Some elderly women across the isle from us, look up at him in bewilderment and just stare.
"Theo!" I quickly snap at him and he turns his head at me.
"We're not supposed to be standing yet!" I whisper loudly at him and with this he widens his eyes dramatically. "Oh no, Oh my gosh Shai, help me! I'm going to get arrested or something!" he teases in a fake petrified voice and I can't help but laugh; the elderly women still staring.
It is then though that a door opens from the cockpit and immediately Theo scrambles for his seat again, his long legs tripping him up and his movements quick.
I laugh uncontrollably just from the sight of his 'actual' panic and nudge him once he's in his seat again.
"See? What did I tell you?" I try and speak through chuckles at him and he just grins. "Got away with it though, didn't I?" he remarks and I just shrug. "So? You could have gotten in trouble Theo!" and finally I suddenly feel the plane give a lurch beneath me.
I inhale excitedly and whip my head around to the small window again. We have landed at last.
It's about time! I don't know how long I can continue laughing at Theo until my voice box starts to get irritated! I think rather sarcastically as suddenly Theo turns and begins grabbing my handbags for me from below my seat and I give him a surprised look.
"Well look at you being nothing but a fine gentleman!" I smile thankfully and he tips his head in a nod and smiles back out of amusement for my comment.
I fidget excitedly as I continue watching him. To think, we were going to be staying at Hawaii for a couple of days! How amazing will this trip be?
Theo now moves back so that I can start stepping out into the isle, his eyes going from my luggage and onto me within mere moments.
"You got it?" His low tone asks as I inch myself out into the isle and he then hands me my bags once I have stretched and gained some movement.
"Yes, thank you." I reply, but I notice how he keeps most of my bags for himself and I place a hand on my hip. "Come on Theo, share some luggage. I'm totally capable of carrying my own junk around." I smile and he just grins at me, his hands hauling the last few remaining bags onto his shoulders next. "I know you're capable, Shai, but I've got it."
At last I just simply give in. There was no arguing with Theo's strange ways for me.
That's what I enjoyed about him though. He acted like an older brother to me and it wasn't the kind of brother that you'd despise very often. We were really close and he and I understood each other in a way that I couldn't quite describe to any other person.
I now turn and begin heading for the blue curtain that leads to the exit. I have to swerve around tons of grumpy men and exhausted looking women but I don't mind. They were all just tired from being woken up at this time in the morning.
"Excuse me, Excuse me, sorry." I repeat myself over and over and finally I hear Theo's voice from behind me, "Shai you don't have to keep saying that, the'll move eventually." And I hear a chuckle from him but I just continue with my pardons anyways. It was always the right thing to do towards another being.
Once we're off of first class though we instantly hit the throng of the lower classed passengers. I hear a rather impatient sigh come from Theo just over my shoulder at the sight.
We were going to be waiting for at least a good ten minutes from the looks of the weight of the crowd...
Fun.
