Vic's POV

After dinner I rushed straight to my room so I could sketch. I've been dying too all day and now I finally can. I bent down to retrieve my sketchbook with was sandwiched in between the mattress and box spring.

"I've missed you." I brought my baby to my chest and hugged it tightly. I laid down on my stomach and started sketching my heart out. I heard the handle of my door turn but I didn't bother looking up straight away, it's probably just a doctor checking up on me. I turned over slightly to see who came in and too my surprise it was another patient. I studied his features for a moment, he had a very thin figure, with pale skin and practically no fat on him. He must be here for an ed. He had raven black hair and gorgeous turquoise eyes.

"Um can I help you?" He said quite rudely, but I understand. I'd be rude if someone was staring at me too

"Uh um no sorry it's just they didn't tell me I was getting a roommate." I stuttered frantically. Great job Vic, he probably thinks you're a freak now.

"Oh it's fine."

"Okay..well I'm gonna go to bed now. " I said awkwardly.

Great. Fucking. Job

I woke up, the sun was barely up. Kellin still laid asleep on his bed. I took this as an opportunity to sketch. Kellin started to stir in his sleep so I quickly slid the book back where it was before. I noticed it was raining, I'm such a sucker for the rain. I looked back at Kellin who was now awake fully and staring out the window.

"No one that beautiful deserves to be there." Now that got my attentio,n, although I'm pretty sure I wasn't supposed to hear it.

"What?" I asked, pretending I didn't hear what he said.

He blushed and stuttered, "oh um nothing."

We had a little small talk since we both just woke up.

"Hey Kellin, what's your story?" I asked out of curiosity. I must have triggered something because his face went blank and he stayed silent for a while.

"Kellin?" I tried getting his attention. He opened his mouth to speak but we were cut off by the bell.

"Shower bell, follow me."

After I showed Kellin the way, I headed downstairs for breakfast and to my therapy session with Doctor McKinnon. It's still awkward to talk with him about stuff so I always try to dodge the question. I know it's bad, but I still don't like the fact that the doctors and nurses look at me like I'm crazy. I'm not.

"Hello Vic, how are you today?"

"Fine."

"I heard you got a roommate. How is it?"

"Don't know."

He furrowed his brows, making it clear that he was frustrated. "Well, is he nice? Friendly? Interesting? Do anything that annoys you?"

"Don't know."

Finally, the bell rang and it was lunch time. I quickly ran out of his office before he could say anything. Today, I was in a bit of a mood so I ate alone. Mike and Tony would understand. Plus, I kinda wanted to let them have some alone time.

After lunch, I went back to my room, hoping Kellin wasn't there so I could sketch without awkwardness. To my surprise, I caught him singing. Before I could really ask him about it, it was rec time.

Everyone was talking about watching a movie so I just went along with it. I don't get much of a say in what happens around here anyways. We went to the activity room to watch some dumb movie. My focus was mainly on Kellin until he got up and left, to my dismay. I decided to wait a few minutes before following him back to the room, just so it wouldn't look suspicious.

As I was walking back, I heard faint noises coming from the room. It kinda sounded like humming. I assumed it was Kellin after I caught him the first time. I slowly opened the door and peeked. He looked so happy and honestly? It was adorable. Creeping slowly along the wall, I was smiling like an idiot again until he realized I was there. Embarrassing. Again.

"What are you doing?" he asked in a groggy voice. I guess he was humming himself to sleep.

"Nothing. Just wanted to sketch for a bit before dinner," I half-lied.

"Oh ok," he replied with no enthusiasm. Understandable. I was like that, too, during my first week before I was reunited with Mike.

I was debating whether to press him for more conversation or let him take a nap. Before I could decide, he had already fallen asleep. His little snores were absolutely ah-dorbs. I moved his blanket from under him and tucked him in, making sure I covered up his feet and arms so he wouldn't catch a cold. Kellin's body was so small and frail, kind of reminding me of a bird. I was tempted to smoothen his lovely hair before I realized it was probably too risky.

I sat back on my bed and started sketching, making sure I wasn't loud. For some reason, my stomach felt...fluttery? Is it 'cause of him?

***

I walked down to the lunchroom for dinner and looked for my brother and his roommate, Tony. Once I found them, I made my way over to their table.

"Hey, brother," he said happily. Well, at least someone is in a good mood.

"Where's Kellin? Aren't you guys like attached at the hip or something?" Tony asked.

"No, we're not 'attached at the hip'. It's only been a few days since he got here anyways. Plus, he can't eat in the cafeteria." I said lowkey hoping they would catch the hint.

"Ah ok," they both said at the same time. They started giggling like a bunch of dorks. Cute.

Dinner was over and everyone was heading to their rooms to sleep. I wasn't tired in the least so I decided to sketch something random. Kellin wasn't back yet and I was getting a little worried. Wait. Why am I worried? Whatever.

I was absentmindedly drawing when the doorknob turned. I quickly checked the time. Damn. Past curfew. Just as the door opened, I rolled over and shoved my sketchbook under the bed. I heard footsteps walking towards me and I froze.

"Vic?" someone whispered. It was Kellin.

"Yeah?" I whisper-replied.

"Oh you're up. Nevermind then."

"Turn off the light so they don't know we're still up."

"Ok," he said while walking to the light switch, "um what were you doing before I came?"

"Nothing much. Dilly-dallying." God I can't believe I just said that. Way to make a good impression.

"Oh ok," he replied. I heard some shuffling so I assumed he was getting in bed.

"How was your second day here?"

"I don't know. Still weird."

"Yeah I get that."

I suddenly heard some mumbling followed by snoring. He always falls asleep early than me. I rolled over so that I'm facing him. His nose was scrunched up. For some reason, I started blushing like crazy and it felt like my stomach's tied in knots. I turned away from him and tried to sleep away the feels. I hope his day three is better, though.
