Falling. Falling, falling, falling. More falling. A black abyss of nothing surrounded me as I fell. Falling, falling, falling. More falling. An endless pit of darkness, covering my eyes. Then, something happened.
"Ow! Ugh!" A ten-year-old Tatiana Darby stood after a failed triple axel. "Darn!" The girl skated around, attempting to do the jump one more time.
"Tatiana?" A voice filled the girl's ears as she fell, a sharp scream emitting from her mouth.
"Ouch! Hey, Viktor!" The small girl waved to the twelve-year-old boy awkwardly as he skated out onto the ice, holding out a hand to help her up.
"Come on, I'll help you," Tatiana grateful took his hand, watching him as he attempted to land a triple axel. Viktor landed it perfectly, waving Tatiana on as though he were saying 'your turn.'
"Alright. Here I go, Viktor," With determination, Tatiana skated up the rink into a triple axel, landing it just barely."Good! Now before we get in trouble, we have to go get ready for classes," Viktor waved her along, coolly skating off the ice.
"Oh! Right," The girl remembered, skating off the ice and slipping on her blade guards. "I'll see you later then. Bye!"
Later that day, Viktor Nikiforov and Tatiana Darby met up at the winter camp's ice rink.
"I've practiced my triple axel. I've landed it plenty of times. I also brought the music," Holding up a speaker and her phone, Tatiana selected the Moonlight Sonata to skate to. "You can pick the next song." Triple axel, the girl reminded herself, landing the triple axel perfectly, going straight into a Chinese spiral."That was amazing, Tatiana!" Viktor exclaimed, leaning over the wall of the rink.
Soon the girl finished, and Viktor stepped onto the ice, dragging the girl closely behind him.
"Huh? What're you doing?" Tatiana questioned the preteen, looking at the boy's face.
"We're performing together, right? The teachers paired us up for the duet," Viktor spoke, looking up at the ceiling with a confused look on his fave. "Why couldn't it have been boys with boys and girls with girls?" The two said simultaneously, bursting out into laughter.
"What's the music Viktor?" Tatiana said through laughs, wiping the tears off her grinning face.
"I've decided a song call 'Stay Close To Me.' Just follow my lead," Viktor skated to the middle of the rink, the silverette girl in tow, raising an eyebrow in question.
"Huh, I've never heard of it, but okay." Tatiana watched Viktor as the music started, copying his every movement perfectly.
Then the doors to the stadium flew open, and in walked three fifteen-year-old girls.
"Look, it's the two babies who can't skate in the junior division, because they're not 'good enough!'" One girl, a blonde, laughed with the others, stepping out onto the ice. Tatiana had stopped, but Viktor had continued, ignoring them.
"T, just keep going!" Viktor violently whispered through gritted teeth. "Ignore them!"
"No. I've had absolutely enough! I'm going to sock 'em in the face," Lucky for Tatiana, the three girls were pretty short.
"Ha-ha! You can't reach us!" The three girls laughed again, skating faster than the smaller girl.
"But on land I run faster than any of you! I'll slit your throats if I have to shut you up!" Fists clenched, Tatiana skated over to the girls, who just kept on moving."She can't even go as fast as the worst in the novice class. How disappointing... " A redhead girl spoke this time, and something just broke in Tatiana.
