The boat went to another wall and stopped. Everyone walked out and was placed somewhere. It seemed like everyone knew eachother, somehow. I walked a little out and sat under a tree. My cheek hurt like hell. I opened my backpack and took out a piece of bread. Tears rolled down my cheeks as I ate. I finished quickly and curled up. More tears rolled down my cheeks. The events played through in my head. I decided to fall asleep on the ground, hugging my backpack. My cheek hurt, but I couldn't do much about it anyway.

A year passed. At 13 I enlisted military training. We were placed after fractions, and when asked where I came from, I said the outside. The general looked at me like I was an alien. I stood in my own fraction. Everyone looked at me. "What's your name, and where are you from?" He asked me. I looked up. "Linda Sukina. I'm from the outside." I looked at him. "Why are you here?" He asked. "I want to be able to defend myself. Against anything. Bullies, titans." I looked into his eyes. "I want to be able to do my duty as a human and protect the one's I love." He looked at me and nodded before moving on to someone else. I stood still and followed the general with my eyes. He asked more people.

In the evening I sat all alone and ate my food while twirling the necklace around. A guy with black hair sat on the other side. I looked up. Besides him sat a blonde boy, and besides me sat a girl with dark brown hair. "You're from the outside, huh?" The guy with the black hair asked. I looked at him. "Yes." I said. He stared at me. "How are you still alive?" He asked. "We thought everyone outside the walls were gone." He looked into my eyes. "Our village was protected, but one day the protection disappeared and the titans attacked." I looked down and tok a few bites. "I was the only one to make it out alive." I stared into my food. Two teardrops fell on my plate. "Sorry for your loss." The blonde guy said. I looked up with a small smile. "I'm sure they're safe, wherever they are." I finished my food and slowly got up. "What's your name?" The girl asked. I looked at her. "Linda Sukina." I walked out of the dininghall. People looked at me. I stared straight ahead. My senses all numbed out. Nothing was going to get to me. No one could be trusted. No one but myself.
