Silver •Alpha of NightPacks Mate•

I stared at Shade, this couldn't be right. "Fade's what?" I whimpered.

"Fades in the rouge camp, Silver." replied Shade. "I found his scent trail and it lead straight to the rouges territory, but then his scent vanished so I'm assuming that they had a small battle and they stole Fade. I found the rouges scent trail leading to their camp but my nose wasn't good enough to follow it."

I sank down to the ground and looked up at Shade. I started to whimper but Shade laid down next to me and I stopped.

"I need you to help me find him." Mumbled Shade.

"I will." I replied

As I sprinted out of camp, with Shade I could only think to myself. Where's Fade now? What if they have already killed him? My pup?

I decided to focus more on where we were going so I could get back to my camp safer. As we walked into a small clearing, I saw where a battle could have taken place. Fades scent trail ended at a patch of ferns, like he was hiding, but then it disappeared.

"And this is where the rouges took Fade, but I couldn't follow it because the whole place smells like rouges now" Spat Shade disgusted. I walked over to where he was pacing and sniffed the ground carefully.

"The rouges had... walked... this way." I said still sniffing with my eyes closed. "And carried Fade with them." I opened my eyes to stair at Shade. "I can almost smell his pain. He must have been hurt very badly."

As I followed the rouges scent deeper into their territory, It abruptly stopped. I glanced into the clearing and saw three small patches of blood. I frantically sniffed them, but relaxed when I saw that they were only morning dove blood.

"The pack stopped here to hunt." I told Shade, still sniffing.

"And it looks like they set Fade down right here." He said growling.

He was right! It was Fades scent with a small patch of his blood. I hoped that Fade wasn't to badly injured, so we could get him home without hurting him more.

As we followed the rouges scent, it disappeared into a thick clump of ferns. I circled the clearing but there was no way in. I stuck my head through the ferns and I saw the rouges camp! I swung my head around and saw Two wolves talking quietly, a light grey wolf, and a rusty one. I saw A nursers den with one golden she-wolf nursing a dark grey pup. I shook snow off my paws and walked back over to Shade.

"This is the rouges camp." I growled quietly. "But I can't see Fade."

"Well were going to have to break in and steal him back anyways."

I looked at him sternly and he fell silent. " I think I'll wait here until the sun sets." I growled. "I'll go and steal him then."

"No you can't!" Snarled Shade. "Its to dangerous!"

"OH so you think I'm not good enough to take on a few pesky rouges!" I snarled at him. "If they knew what was good for them they'd be HANDING him back to me!"

He took a step back. "I command you to go back to camp and wait there." I snarled.

"But Luna.." He stammered.

"Now!" I spat.

"Yes Luna." He whimpered and walked back in the direction of camp.

As I waited, crouched in a clump of ferns, the sun cast long shadows over the ground. I glanced to the West and saw that it was almost nighttime. As I waited for the last few rays of sunlight to disappear, I slunk out of the ferns.

I watched as the light grey wolf crawled Into his den and fell asleep. I quietly padded into their camp. As I was scouting the edges of their camp I stepped on a twig.

I threw myself behind a patch or ferns just before the Red she-wolf poked her head out of her den. My heart pounded as she sniffed the air. I knew I would be discovered. She stopped sniffing and glanced my way. My pulse pounded so loud I thought she could hear it. The red she-wolf shrugged her shoulders and crawled back Into her den.

As I walked around the inside of their camp, I continued to sniff for Fades scent. I thought that I picked it up once, but it got lost in the smell of rotting meat.

When I had checked the camp almost 4 times I was discouraged. Where.

Was.

My.

Pup?

All of the sudden I heard a small whimpering. I looked into the fern boarder of the camp, and saw a small black bundle of fur. I walked over to it and sniffed. It was Fade!
