Storm •Rouges Leader•
"Oh now look what you've done you've killed it." sighed Rusty
Ugh
I padded over to the Pup and sniffed him. I could smell his pulse racing through his veins with fierce determination.
"No he's alive." I grunted
"Oh darn." chuckled Rusty "We could have had some Pup buffet."
"Your not that hungry." I asked chuckling.
"Well no but I haven't eaten in two days.." Whimpered Rusty. We gave the rabbit we caught to Honey because she has to help Cinder grow strong." said Rusty almost to herself.
I looked at her with concern. "Here. Grab the pup and let's go and find that herd of deer." I told her. She looked at me with a glimmer of admirarance in her eyes as we set off deeper into the woods.
We returned to camp with three scrawny morning doves, and a NightPack pup, still unconscious. I took him from Rusty and brought him over to a cage made with sticks. I placed him inside on a bed of mosses, with a small pile of pigeon meat next to him. I closed the stick cage and laced the lock with a thick strand of spiderwebbing. I looked down at the small bundle of black fur and felt my face soften but I snapped out of the trance quickly. What was I doing? I was the Alpha and I could show no mercy to an enemy packs pup. I trailed my eyes away from the pup and back to my own camp. We only had four pack members left from the battle with NightPack. They had killed 2 of my finest wolves and their pup. Why kill a helpless pup that couldn't fend for himself!?
Anger was welling up inside me. I clawed the dirt floor of the camp, leaving five deep claw marks in the mud.
"Alpha?" Asked Rusty from behind me.
"What?!" I snarled at her face.
She took a step back
"T..the pups awake." She whimpered.
I raked my claws through the mud once again. "I'm sorry Rusty." I said, sadness glimmering in my eyes. "I didn't mean to snarl at you I'm just... stressed and thinking about midnight. I still don't understand WHY they had to kill a pup!" I growled again and started to take my claws through the mud when Rusty's reassuring muzzle was burrowed in my neck. This sent shivers through my whole body and I breathed in her scent. We stayed like this for a long time, neither of us wanting to move, but when the first snowflakes started falling, we had to retreat to our dens, alone.
