Fade •Alpha of NightPacks Son•

I slipped and slipped again but I finally managed to get off the ice. As I sprinted towards camp, with my nose to the ground, I didn't even want to think about what could happen to my mother.

My father would be heartbroken. Even the thought of this made ME sad. I pushed myself even harder, trying and hoping that I would reach camp in time.

As my legs started to cramp, the fern boarder of camp came into view. I strained myself one last time and battled into camp like a maniac.

I got lots of startled stares and growls at first, but when my pack mates recognized me they all rushed over and licked me in greeting.

I growled at them, but they could see I needed my father and they backed off. I rushed into my Fathers den and skidded to a stop.

"Dad!" I growled and his eyes snapped open instantly.

"Fade!!" He yipped and licked my muzzle all over.

"I..I Moms in trouble!" I panted with my tounge lolling out of my jaws. "She slipped and fell into the ice! We need to save her!!"

He said no more, only bolted out of his den, quicker then lightning and exploded to the pack. "EVERYONE EVERYONE FOLLOW FADE WE MUST LEAVE NOW!!!"

I ran out of my Fathers den and quickly out of camp with four wolves following me at a sprint.

When we reached the edge of the farmers field, I glanced around quickly. Where was the pond!? Quickly I spotted it and we ran over to it.

I knew the ice could hold my weight, because I was only a half of the size as everyone else, and as I tried not to slip on the ice, I finally reached the hole where my Mother was.

But all I saw, was a lifeless patch of floating silver fur, and the words "I love you Fade" Carved into the ice.
